The rooms are very basic but got everything you need. We enjoyed our stay. The owner was super friendly and helped us whenever we had a question. Very good option for backpackers. We would go there again anytime.

Super friendly

Right in the UNESCO part of town, this small guesthouse is clean and basic but has a very warm feeling about it. The owner is really nice, and it's quite cheap. I enjoyed my stay there and would recommend.

I stayed upstairs with street window and emerced myself in the beautiful old world malacca street sitting.
Owners were so welcome g and always smiling 😀 

Suggestion of better stair access as very sheep for a 50 yo! 
Also investing in aircon in some room would be great
Cant wait to go back

Relaxed and super friendly

The best thing about this place is that it is a perfect hide-away from the hustle and bustle of the crowded Jonker Street. It is very small, so the atmosphere is very homely. It feels safe and relaxing. Moreover, even though the building is quite old and the first impression of your room isn't the best, IT IS EXTREMELY CLEAN. Honestly, this is probably one of the cleanest guesthouses I've stayed at in the recent years! I also liked the location, you can easily walk from here to all the places of interest, and of course the friendly owner and staff :)

Just like home :)

First the location is excellent, it is 2 minutes away from jonker street (the main one).
Then, the rooms are clean and come with fan. Water from shower is almost cold.
Good surprise, wifi works perfectly. 

In the end for 5 € a night it is a very good deal !


 Good value for money

Bala's place is locates near to historic buildings, river cruise, food stalls, restaurants, Hard Rock Cafe, bicycle rentals, handcraft shops, 7/11, etc. The manager and staffs here are extra friendly and helpful! But i recommend customers/guests/visitors to pay and stay in the room with air-conditioner (if you can't tolerate with hot weather).
