I ensured the photo coverage of a couple of friends at Lakecity and all I can say is I love this exotic place. The rooms are "pieds dans l'eau" and the chalet seemed like a floating boat. The decoration and lights are a bit vintage. The yard pool is though design. Food is well cooked and its open space style is ideal for intimate weddings

Wedding

We stayed here one day (not overnight) while waiting for our Air France flight to Paris at 1:50 am.  The hotel is very near the airport (5 - 10 minutes).  As the name implies, it is right on a lake with pleasant views.  

The rooms are all arranged around a center courtyard with a pool.  There are approx. 10 rooms.  We had Rooms 7 and 8 (right next to each other).  Room 7 was great - large room with king sized bed and a bath with shower.  You had to step up about 10 inches (25 cm) to get in and out of the shower.  Almost seems like you were on stage.  As one of my travel mates said - "The only thing missing was the stripper pole."  Room 8, on the other hand, was very small, with a queen sized bed and a small bath.  It had a bathtub with a hand held shower spray.  But, you couldn't stand up and use it because you'd spray water all over the whole bathroom.  

Dinner was pretty good, but as someone else said, they don't always have everything on the menu.  The front desk staff tried to be helpful and for the most part, they were.  But, we didn't speak French or Malagasy, and they didn't speak much English.  

The hotel had a party in the pavillion over the lake, so we couldn't use it in the afternoon, but they also had a thunderstorm that afternoon, which shut down the party earlier than planned.  The hotel took us to the airport around 10:30 pm, well in time for our flight to Paris.

Day Stay Waiting for Late Night Flight

Lovely little hotel with a big pool and a view 10 min away from the airport. A great place to stay if you want to quiet place to stay while waiting for a delayed flight. Staff are friendly and speak some english, but mostly french. 

Quiant Hotel

This hotel is located about 5 minutes drive from the airport in a rather "strange" neighbourhood.  We only stayed here a couple of hours to sleep between to flights.  I wouldn't stay here much longer then necessary. Wouldn't recomment this hotel.

Close to the airport

I booked this as part of my search for the perfect airport hotel in Tana.  I still haven't found it.

It was ok.  My room, with a lake view, was very spacious and had a really nice outlook.  Electrically operated roller doors close down over the terrace doors for security.  

The other room I looked at, without view, was a tiny closed space.  Avoid.

The staff were friendly and the welcome was very good.  

There is a lovely big sitting place right on the lake edge where I took all of my meals, and there is a little balcony off the room too although no where to sit there.

King sized bed was very welcome, and the room was fine.  My lights didn't work (the staff said they'd have to fix them "tomorrow") and the towels, well, the towels need a good bleach.  They looked like they had been washed in the lake.  Sorry, that's mean, I know very well that town water in Madagascar is not good and things do discolour, that's why I use bleach.

OK hotel for the price, friendly staff, strange above-ground pool in the courtyard that the rooms surround, nice outdoor eating, very limited menu (only 4 main-courses but the beef choice was not available and I don't eat fish in the city).

I wouldn't stay here again.
