This hotel looks like it has recently been refurbished.
It is clean, in an excellent location and very good value for money.
Close to the tourist sites and a short walk to the Mekong River. The wifi is also very good here

Clean and Good Value

Came here with a research group. Large Rooms on top floor- looked brand new . NO LIFT. Air con and good bathroom with shower and warm water. Clean sheets, firm bed. Very little English spoken- we relied on local team members. No breakfast- just coffee and whitener with hot water. Verdict : chesp and OK for one night in transit

Basic but clean

We stayed here for two nights and found it reasonably comfortable. Having stayed in hostels mainly while backpacking having a TV in the room is always a novelty even if it's not the newest of tvs. Shower was hot and pretty strong too. Check in was easy and the people very pleasant, waving whenever we walked in or out. It looks like they are renovating the buildings and when this is complete I think it will be a great place to stay...  So be aware there is building going on there but we were not affected by it... 

Good on a budget

The price is low and that's the only reason why you should go. It is badly maintained but the room was clean. You can choose between first second and third class. The second class room had a Aircon that only could be turned on or off and there was is no fan.

OK for when you're on a budget

I come from Thailand and I had to catch the bus to Vientiane so I thought staying there one night, I booked the hotel online, when I went there there were an old lady who didn't understand a single English word, after 10 minutes I found a guy who could speak English and she told me "I do not accept online booing" she had the room prices written there, 100,000 air conditioned room, 600,000 fan room. I haven't stayed there since she needed the local currency, and I couldn't get any information from her about the city due to lack of English
