Clean and beautiful rooms. All the facilities a visitor may need, including free use of washing machine. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lots of information in Japanese and English. Perfect location within minutes walking to the Uji JR station and to the city of Uji. In a beautiful street, with lovely gardens.

The perfect guesthouse to stay in Uji!

Clean, friendly, tidy and comfortable. And free bier!! Very close to all attractions and monuments. The owner was cery friendly and helpful. I highly reccommend. Price vs service is really good and it is not like every ryokan, this one is nicer.

Friendly clean and comfort guest house in central Uji

A Clean, quiet and tidy place to stay. Very nice and super friendly host too. There is a common kitchen area to choose the drinks that you want. They serve breakfast as well. Overall was a pretty good place!

Excellent

Quiet place and kind staff. Good location, near Uji Station, Uji River and some temples. The area is also very quiet and you can find from traditional restaurants to supermarkets. The breakfast was also good and you have the posibility to chose a west style breakfast.


Excelent place to stay

This place was amazing, it was very organized and clean. We stayed for two nights and loved the common areas, the rooms and the experience. Would highly recommend for any type of travel. 
We stayed by in the Japanese style rooms and loved the experience. Would love to come back and stay here.

Absolutely great place, highly recommend

Brilliant hostel, very friendly and helpful manager, very clean, and free coffee and beer. Great location - really convenient for Uji station where you can get the Nara line (covered on JR pass) straight into Kyoto station in about 20 minutes. Would recommend.

Fantastic

I was so impressed with my stay here at Uji Cha-gan-ju-tei House. The perfect location is convenient to all the markets, sights, eateries and easy access to public transportation. The staff are attentive and hospitable. The hostel as a whole was SO CLEAN. Bikes are available for rental. Laundry services are provided at no additional cost. On top of that, delicious breakfast is included. This is all in Uji, the magical land of Matcha—Uji Cha-gan-ju-tei made the experience all the more exceptional!

Highly Recommend! A 5 star stay in the center of Uji. Will definitely come again. ♡

I've had the best time at this hostel! The manager was very friendly and funny even though he didn't speak a lot of English and I don't speak Japanese we had a great chat. Nice and quiet place, very clean, they have beer on tap too! And also breakfast included. The manager also helped me carry my backpack every time!

Very friendly and hospitable stay!

Around 600m from JR Uji with reasonable pricing inclusive of breakfast (Japanese or western option). 

We reached at 1pm, the owner helped us to keep the bags and brought to the room.

Stayed in western family room, spacious enough for three of us. 

Shared bathroom with complete facilities. Overall is clean and cozy. 

For family who is going to spend one or two days in Uji, this hostel is gonna be one of the best option.
