We stayed here one night before starting our Kumano Kodo walk.  It was really good.  The reception staff didn’t speak English but they used Google Translate and we communicated successfully.

And they were so polite and respectful.

The breakfast which was included was amazing!

The staff are so friendly and the rooms although small are very clean and functional. The breakfast was better than expected and would definitely stay here again if in Tanabe.

Stayed here for 5 nights and the best thing about the hotel was the location. A few minutes away from the station and the new dining / club area.

The rooms were not large but a reasonable size compared to many we stayed at in Japan. The room was western style with twin beds and also had a balcony which let you look over the town to the sea.

The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help us. They also seemed to be more aware of their surroundings than many other hotels we stayed at.

One point that may cause concern for some, is that the rooms are built around an open stairwell. My partner was getting bouts of vertigo when negotiating the short trip from the lift to our room. We were on the top floor.

There is free parking available but you may have to get in early or late.

This hotel,is close to the JR station and this an ideal base to use for the night before starting the Kumino  Kudo. We were given a good sized room on the 8 th floor with a view,and windows that opened to a balcony.  Having coffee available all day was a great bonus.

Stayed 1 night before the Kumano Kudo trail and was very handy for catching the 8am bus the next day and for arriving at the station.Reasonable room with with western style beds and bathroom.Breakfast better than described by the hotel.Helpful staff who pointed us to the  surprisingly large number of restaurants nearby with a booked recommendation.Great bento box place opposite for the walking trail.Good experience of a local Japanese business Hotel.

Close to railway station and very friendly staff, new umbrellas were handed when it started to rain. Rooms are sufficient and on the 8th flour with great view and balcony

Restaurant which was pointed by staff offered therefore a free drink

Really nice budget hotel 

Good value hotel.

Nothing flash, but very comfortable

Nice and great location

Good location ( short walk from station). 

Breakfast is western-style with made-to-order omelets. 

Single rooms are VERY small. Doubles are typically corner units on even-numbered floors 

Staff speak very little English, so have your Google translate ready. 

About $55 per person, per night.

Decent breakfast, eggs cooked to order.
Friendly staff

The bad:
Evening else. The hotel needs a major renovation! Rooms are cramped and are crying for improvements.
