Oyado Tsukamotosou

Its an old private house, with male/ female onsen. They hardly speak English but their efficiency and warmth transcends the language barrier. I absolutely love them! The son (I assume) does the cleaning, pick up, greeting guests, check in, check out, transfers and even loaning bikes (free) to the guests. Very elderly mum (whom I called Mummy, the whole time I was there), showed us the onsen, the loo, the sink. Guests keep to themselves and were hardly heard. The house although has seen better days, was well kept and tidy. Fancy toilet with Japanese bidet and warm seats! I slept soundly on their simple bedding placed on tatami mats. No kettle but we were given flasks with hot water and green tea. At our checkout, there were local Japanese guests who smoked at the foyer which was a downer to an otherwise excellent stay. I love Mummy and her house. Will come back when I can
