This is a relatively simple business hotel. However, the rooms a somewhat larger than the average and quite comfortable. They provide breakfast, with a choice between Japanese and Western. I chose Japanese and was quite satisfied.

The hotel is very conveniently located across from the train/bus station, and not far from the Tourism Information office. They are very helpful with directions, etc.

Very convenient

Very reasonably priced hotel directly across the street from the train station, this small boutique hotel sits over a McDonalds. We were pleasantly surprised at the spacious rooms, and lovely furnishings. We had a Japanese speaker in the group, so don't know how difficult it would have been for a non-speaker, but we found staff to be extremely gracious and helpful. We did not breakfast in the hotel, just popped down to McDonalds for hotcakes and coffee. Shimoda is an extremely walkable and friendly town. The hotel is just around the corner from a large supermarket where you can buy snacks and bento boxes. Restaurants are plentiful and within minutes of the hotel. Would definitely stay  here again.

Comfy small hotel, great location in walkable historic town

This saved us and it was unexpected delight. This place was way better than the place we were about to stay which was too costly. The place is strategic near to restaurants and the main buses. We really enjoyed this hotel: if provides cute fish pattern pajamas also!

Saved us

This hotel saved us from the wrath of the Prince hotel! They were able to take us in on a one day short notice because we had a bad experience up the road. Marseille is across from Shimoda station, above the McDonalds bldg, and conveniently located. A quaint, unique French style hotel with the cutest bears and decorations in the halls! Very small place but we had a nice size room compared to Japan standards! Bed was firm, everything worked and the best lavender soaps! Breakfast was fabulous and the price was so reasonable! They are the only place we could find internet and wi fi!!!   Thank you, merci, arigato to the staff! Great place to leave your cases if you want to take the bus to Dogashima for a day! Highly recommended!
