Located close to all the best attractions in Miyajima.
Staff are incredibly friendly and really helpful. 
The building itself is beautiful, with a lovely garden. 
Rooms are very quiet and comfortable. 
Also it's the best place if you want to see a rare white racoon, who visits most evenings. 
We had an incredible stay.

Best accommodation in Miyajima

The place is so nice, and the owner very kind. A nice guy - probably his son - takes care of the welcoming, and gives suggestions on the activities around the island.
The house is very nice with a nice garden before the door and a big hall at the entrance full of many suggestive Japanese decorations and statues. On the left a big room full of sofas and other decorations and also tourist guides in many languages to help the guest, with tv and tables, and also a kitchen with cereals and juices for the guests to be used. 
Stairs take you to the rooms where you can experience how a Japanese ryokan is, with short tables, cushions on the floor, big windows and bamboo walls. The room has a initial anti room with a small table and a wardrobe where to store futons and pillows, and a second wider room enough for three futons, with other two short tables, and big windows over the entire island, with two big chairs and a small sink. The toilet and the showers are shared though, and for the bravest there is also a bath with hot water where to relax (but I do not know how and how many times do they clean it).

Miyajima Guest House Mikuniya is a 5-minute walk from Itukushima Shrine and Tori. It is a very nice guesthouse. The staff is very friendly, ready to help and advise. The rooms are spacious, though futons are not the most comfortable thing for me.
Highly recommended.
Miyajima is expensive (tourist spot) and the hotel is following the trend.

Good hotel to spend the night in Miyajima

Loved the house and amazed by the decoration in the house. The Ryoken room was excellent with a view of the sea.The people who run the place were very hospitable.

A very nice location in Miyajima, quiet, green, spacious and clean. You can even enjoy a little onsen. Friendly and helpfull staff. Short distance regarding a lot of things one would like to see. I would stay there again for sure.

Fine location, friendly staff!

Lovely house, 10-15 min stroll from the pier. Large ryokan style rooms with amazing view of the water. Cereal and toast provided which was good considering how hard it is to eat on the island outside the hours of 10am - 4pm. 
Communal bathrooms but very clean and well stocked. 

Nice ryokan style stay

I went to Miyajima to think and chose this guesthouse because it located in a quiet neighborhood.

They asked me why I visited Miyajima and chosed to stay for 2 nights (usually tourists either visit on day tour or overnight only), when I told them my reason the owner was so kind and gave a ryokan room all to myself (the room must br shared by 3 person). 

The ryokan room of the guesthouse is facing the zen garden (this garden is so serene that you can only hear the birds chirping), daily breakfast was provided (unlimited coffee and bread), shared bathrooms, it has a lounge with a large smart tv (I got to watch youtube/netflix while waiting for check in).

I had a great holiday this time in Japan (my 4th time), thanks to kind people of Miyajima and to Luna and the owner of Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya.

Quiet Place for Soul Searching

When we were looking for places to stay on the island everything was priced through the roof. When we saw this place which was under half the price of other places we didn't know if there was some sort of mistake or we must have booked some sort of shared dorm room. But everything was right as described. Guest room for the 2 of us.

There is a backpackers / dorm style accommodation on the bottom floor. On the top floor is more like hotel stay room that are booked individually. Japanese style futon that you setup yourself in a large room with a garden view and looking out over the island. Beautiful. Key to lock your room, great common areas. Shared bathrooms.

The hosts are amazing. They take the time to great you personally, walk you through the guest house and explain everything to you. Nothing is left unexplained and they generally interested in meeting their guests.There is kitchen facilities if you want to cook and some basic food available onsite.

Spend some time in the common room. Meet other travelers and swap stories of your travels. Would loved to spent some more time here in hindsight. Don't forget to pat the cat.

Didn't know what to expect ... Loved it

Terazawa-san's house is beautiful and comfortable. We had the Japanese-style bedroom so with futon beds on tatami was very cosy and spacious, it also has a covered sitting area with view of the garden and the coast. The shared bathroom and toilets were clean. It was 2 minutes walk from the Itsukushima shrine so it was nice walk back to the guesthouse after dinner. The communal kitchen has basic items for cooking and breakfast such as cereal, bread, tea and coffee. It also has instant noodles, microwave meals and beer at a low cost. We really enjoyed our stayed. Thanks for having us Terazawa-san

Beautiful guesthouse

We loved it. The host was very polite and attentive and we had the oportunity if enjoying a typical japanese room for a reasonable price. The bathrooms are common but you can enjoy a fantastic japanese bath. There are all kind of details that make the stay more confortable, like available tea, coffee, snacks, instruments to play or a garden to relax
