I really can´t recommend this hotel. I was totally disappointed. I was there in 2016 (June). The room was very dirty and everything stinks in the hotel. First hour in the hotel I cried, because I could not imagine to looking for another hotel at 9 pm... Then I asked to change the room. Personnel was not very helpful (only one person spoke English...), but I got a new room. It was better, but they asked for higher price... I was very happy to leave the hotel. The price definitely does not match the quality of the hotel. Another hotels I have visited in the Japan was very good.

The worst experience in the Japan

Attention from the staff is wonderful. The cleanliness of the room and public bathroom is correct. The room is spacious and traditional, but a bit old and badly repaired, has many broken furniture. The views from the ryokan are very bad, there is nothing remarkable about the view from your room. Breakfast of average quality, but very well prepared. Spacious onsen with good mineral salts, very clean. The hotel is well connected to the Gora station and the cable car and ropway, everything is close to the tourist complex of Hakone. The staff is really wonderful, helped me to go to the Gora station in the hotel car, because the cablecar was still closed. Thank you very much. The hotel is cheap for the quality it offers, I would definitely choose this option to spend my holidays in Hakone.

Good service, good price.

This hotel is a bit old but it's comfortable and staff are very nice. If you want to experience a Ryokan this place is not bad. Food choice is limited compared to other Ryokan but they serve the traditional food eaten in the region. All in all it's enjoyable

I cannot even begin to tell you about how disappointing it was.

Let's start with the good: The breakfast was pretty cool. It was traditional Japanese breakfast. And the onsen is OK.

But the rest was just so bad. The whole place is worn off, old, ugly. It's the ugly, soulless design of late 70's early 80's. No one bothered to renew the couch in the lobby or anything. There is nothing around, so you are kind of stuck at the hotel.
It is a great place if you want to question your life and existence and reach a nihilistic and depressive answer... So, I'd say, no.
(PS: No internet in the rooms - so you cannot even effectively distract yourself from this mistake.)
