Lovely "shared" accommodation, nice staff, everything was very clean & tidy. Downside - rooms are pretty tiny, only 1 bathroom & small kitchen/fridge area. Good wifi, Cafe next door had delicious food!!!

Great place to be .. love the relax atmosphere. Recommend as a stop over., the cheese factory a shot sieve away and the furano ski lift is nearby.. if you are into photography, the view is awesome esp at night.

The first impression is - eco-lodge. Wooden cabins, recycled materials, bio toilets, healthy homemade food, and friendly people!

This is a good option if you're a solo traveler in Furano. It is very near to the ski resort, and the place has a cafe with good food (vegetarian) and coffee. It is far from the train station, and the buses don't run that frequently. I rented a car, so this was ideal - free parking, free wifi, and the property is well managed.

Rooms were okay - the floors creak but that's because of the wood. Heating was decent (though not as good as in the city), and you'd find many travelers staying here. For 2,500 yen a night, I'd say it was a good choice for the countryside!

We absolutely loved staying at Goryo Guesthouse. The accommodation is a quaint beautifully restored farmhouse located in a field. We came for a week during winter to snowboard. Though we had hire cars some of the other guests at the hostel used the free shuttle bus to the fields and back that Masaki offered which I would definitely use if I was travelling with a smaller group. The price is incredibly reasonable for the quality especially during the snow season. The hosts were lovely and the food at the cafe was a great price and very delicious, we ate there on the 3rd night and then kept eating there every other night as it was so good and also conveniant. The atmosphere of the cafe was also lovely, with a roaring fire and jazz music playing. They also offer a laundry service where each night they wash your clothes for free and you can then hang them out in front of the heater in the morning, this was so useful coming from a string of hostels which cost about 6 bucks to end up doing your washing and waiting around for an hour or too as its done. I would definitely recommend staying at this guesthouse and can't wait to come back to experience it in a different season.

I was looking for a secluded guesthouse in the green Furano/Biei area and I chose Goryo thanks to the lovely and accurate reviews on Tripadvisor. I took the train from Sapporo and stayed for two nights in the female dorm. After arriving in Furano I wondered around for a while and then took the bus. The town itself is not really worth spending time at. The guesthouse, its location and the food were exactly as described and hoped for. The two buildings are made out of wood with attention to detail. On my first morning and when I left, I made use of Misaki san’s generous free shuttle service. I brought my own breakfast and had two superb evening meals at the cafe. You would do yourself short if you skip their meals and sweets... I appreciated the opportunaty to wash my laundry at night, together with their laundry. On my second day I rented an e-bike in Biei and cycled during the day on both sides of the station (‘Panorama’ and ‘Patchwork’). Highly recommended for the amazing lush views! The only downside - that made me leave not as rested as I hoped for - was that the dorm has a nice large window without curtains (‘natural policy’). This means waking up with nature. It’s a lovely idea but in summertime you are woken up at 04 am. So bring your eye mask.
