This is a delightful family-run B&B, located in a beautiful building that has been in the family for several generations. Our large room, with its high ceilings, tall shuttered windows, clay-tiled floor and baroque furniture, overlooked the gardens. Our breakfast - served in a shaded and peaceful courtyard by our friendly and generous host - was more than we could eat, and set us up perfectly for our hike up Mt Etna. With the Rifuga Sapienza base station being only 45 mins drive, allowing you to beat the coach party arrivals at 9am, it's ideally located for your volcanic experience. There's a small corner shop nearby for supplies, and Zaffarena Etnea, which has numerous restaurants and a good gelateria, is a 10 min drive away. All in all, a quiet and charming retreat.
