Lovely hotel in the heart of Venice. Very friendly staff, clean rooms. Breakfast is European, without hot dishes, with a choice of coffee. We spent a wonderful weekend with our friends and recorded this hotel in our maps for future trips.

Excellent value for money

our trip was a mixture of interests: I am a professor giving a paper at a conference called : Frankenstein in Venice, given by the University of Venice. My partner and her daughter decided to accompany me. Our rooms were excellently comfortable and perfect for our needs. We all found the ambience, and the staff very pleasant, friendly, helpful, and efficient, and this contributed greatly to our considerable enjoyment of our stay in Venice. One minor point: the bottled water was not renewed, as it said in your documents it would be, in our mini bar. I took the step of ordering the water and putting it on our bill, but   according to your on documents it should have been provided (2 bottles per day).

my review

Arrived in Venice by train (Santa Lucia must have the best exit from any station i.e. straight on to the Grand Canal). Hotel is in a great location  with San Marco, Accademia and Rialto all within easy reach and only 5 mins walk to the nearest  vaporetto stops at Giglio and S. Angelo (even with your wheeled suitcase); plus, of course, La Fenice opera house just around the corner.
I had a very adequately sized, clean, comfortable, single room; the service I received was really friendly and excellent, they couldn't have been kinder or more helpful.
Breakfast (included) was delicious and plentiful and, if you've breakfasted and lunched well so want only a light dinner, this is also available (superb Prosciutto di San Daniele from the Friuli Venezia Giulia region). There is a comfortable lounge next to the bar.
Do eat at the nearby L'Opera, Campo Saint Angelo - just 2 minutes walk away. Tried to eat at the, expensive, Taverna la Fenice next to the hotel but found the "welcome" rude & dismissive so returned to, friendly, L'Opera for a really excellent risotto con le seppie.
When in Venice stay here.

Super Hotel - excellent, friendly staff

We were very happy with the hotel, we found a couple small thinks that could be fix but didn’t bother us to comment on it, very friendly staff, extremely close to everything, we will highly recommend this for everyone, hopefully prices will not change on the weekend especially in slow season.

this hotel is a superb location if you go to the La Fenice Theatre and it is only 5 minutes from St Mark Square. It is very quiet and staff is friendly. Rooms, though, would reuire a significant refurbishing, in particular the bathroom. Common area is nice even if music is too loud and rock: not at all in line with the name of the hotel. Breakfast is ok, but quality of coffee and cappuccino from automatic dispensers is well below what you would expect in Italy.

conveniently located but old

We arrived in Venice at around 2 pm. Set off in direction of hotel.After an hour my husband called them for directions We received very confusing information. After another hour and by now soaking wet as it was teeming with rain, we went into a restaurant. A waiter spoke to the hotel on our behalf to no avail.The guy at hotel then told my husband we should take a water taxi. From what we could make out this was a completely different direction from where we had originally been told to go. I consider us fairly well travelled. We have visited Venice before and found our hotel without any problem. In the end we did take a water taxi (To the Airport) and stayed at the Marriott for the night before our flight the next day.The experience has cost us around 200 euros extra,as I doubt La Fenice would be prepared to offer us a refund On the whole this turned into a very distressing day.Is our experience a one off ?
