Garni Hotel Dornbach

Rooms were very comfortable, but not overly large. Everything was clean, neat and bright. Breakfast was excellent with plenty to choose from and good coffee. A nice terrace outside for comfortable days and small pool. Our hostess was very accommodating, getting us a spare bed for a 3rd traveler. She also gave us a great suggestion for a day-trip via train from Merano to Mals with a beautiful bike ride down the river back to Merano We did not have a car, but used the train, bus and the single-chair, chair lift from Merano to the Dorf Tirol to get around. A Sud Tirol travel Card came in very handy for us without a car. Just up the hill a quarter to half mile was a gondola to go higher up on the mountain for high alpine hikes and some nice alpine huts. Wifi a bit slow and we had variable connectivity in our room near the end of the building. Not unusual in the area.
