Great location, amazing views. Great service from the wonderful owners. Rooms were fine, nothing crazy - but matched our expectations.

Amazing views, good value

If your aim is to find a hotel as a base for your stay on Elba this is a great choice! Most people visit the island and go in search of many of the lovely beaches to spend the days of the holiday. This hotel offers very friendly and honest staff, the rooms are set up as small bungalows distributed over the lovely hotel grounds/garden so it seems more like a hotel/camp-site set up which is ideal as you can spend time sitting outside your room look at the beautiful view you get from your room. The hotel has a lovely terrace where you can have your breakfast and there is also a small private beach area where you can go for lovely swims. Overall, I found this hotel to be great value for money especially if you compare it to other hotels on the island which are generally expensive. I would happily return to this hotel on my next trip to the Isola d'Elba. You need to have a motorised form of transport as the hotel in situated 5 minutes from Portoferraio.

Real value for money!

Lovely views...that's it. Nothing else to recommend. If you don't have a car it's hard to get to and you're stuck in the boonies in a tiny, simple shack with no cross ventilation or even a fan.  Leaving tomorrow and forfeiting a paid night. Bad choice.

MUST HAVE CAR!!

this hotel is next to a German sailing club and almost all of the people at the hotel were Germans enrolled in classes.  Mealtimes, meals, and entertainment were geared toward this demographic (think pizza with wurst and French fries!).  Twice in the week we were there they had a buffet and karaoke night, with the music so loud it was hard to have a conversation even in our cabin, and the crowd was singing schmaltzy old songs until after midnight.  We felt like strangers intruding on a family reunion, or gate crashes at a company picnic.  Because they were a group with a common interest, there was a lot of partying and loud talking as well as camaraderie which made it hard to enjoy the otherwise tranquil setting.  On the plus side, the small but adequate cabins all have some sea view, are air conditioned, and are cleaned daily.  The staff were allL friendly and helpful although they always spoke to us in German, even is we spoke Italian or English to them.  We took the half board option, dinner and breakfast, which was reasonably priced and convenient but the food wasn't great.  Breakfast was served from 7:30 to 10' but when we arrived at 9' there was hardly anything left except juice and cornflakes.  There is a small rocky beach with chairs and umbrellas which is nice for swimming, not the most scenic beach but uncrowded and no charge for the umbrellas.  The location is great, near Portoferraio and the ferries, but in a quiet park like setting.  Free on site parking, wi fi in the terrace area only.

4 stars for German sailors, 3 stars for the rest of us

First of all, the place had an awesome view and was well stocked on drinks for our daytrips...and that was all the good things we could say about this place.  Lots of German tourist at this place so get your "Guten Morgen!", "Hallo", and "Danke." on. (Not a bad thing)  The place was full of bugs because the screen was not velcroed correctly. There was a big gap on the door and the cabin had more of a campground feel with no air conditioning.  We ended spraying OFF bug repellent on the door gap and the base boards. That seemed to stop the ants from coming in.  One time we got back from the beach and realized that the water was completely gone.  The hotel had to buy water from a water truck and that took a long time.  All the Germans ate dinner at the same time as us so eating at the hotel restaurant was bothersome.  We ended eating a mile or two down the road and had better food.  Breakfast was decent but competing with all the other guest was difficult.  The place seemed understaffed with all the guest they had staying there.  The wifi was a joke and only worked right by the office.  At 5am the seabirds would fly into the trees outside our room and squawk.  I had to close the windows(no air conditioning) and go back to sleep. Next time we stay on this island we will go with German friends and pick a hotel by a beach we liked.
