Stayed here in high  heat in August and was a little worried that we had not stumped up the extra for the air con. However with the shutters open at night a gentle zephyr blew through the studio apartment throughout the night.  Yes there is noise from the street below, but we live in the sticks a mile or more from the nearest street light and don't mind something a little livelier now and again and hey, the Italians always do good lively. The best part about Acacia apartments is its location. Fall out of the door and you are on the beach in Cala Ganone, a skip and a giggle from some super bars and restaurants and a supermarket with beach supply shop upstairs.  Cala Ganone is a popular destination particularly in the month when we travelled and most of the people who joined us on the beach had accommodation up the hill at the back of the town and either walked up and down or suffered the experience of parking the car which can be a bit of a trial in this town. The studio apartment had everything we needed for our stay, the view from the terrace was a particular highlight for both lunch and aperitivo and the owners who reside in a hotel a hundred yards up the road couldn't have been more helpful.

Great Location in Cala Ganone

On arrival, acacia apparmenti looks basic. There are two bedrooms, a bathroom and a hallway with fridge and two small tables covered with all of the kitchen implements. The main living area and kitchen are outdoor on the large balcony. These comprise a sink, a four burner cook top, two basic couches (one wicher with two thin cushions) and a six seater 'rustic' table. There are no other appliances (i.e.No washing machine for clothes or TV). The beds are basic bit comfortable. Both rooms had single beds pushed together for doubles. I was a bit apprehensive as to how comfortable it would be for a week long stay in June. We paid euro 728 for a seven night stay. It is probably a little overpriced when looking at the room itself. 

However, after the first night, this accommodation is very suitable for the activities in Cala Gonone. Firstly, it's position is excellent. It is right opposite / adjacent to the main beach, near to 'la siesta' bar. This means it is a very close walk to the waterfront restaurants and supermarkets. It is probably one of the best placed accommodations in town because you have no hills to walk up. 

Further, the basic accommodation is great when you have been at the beach all day, because the hardy nature of the furniture means you aren't overly concerned about sitting on it with wet bathers etc.

The outdoor kitchen is one of the highlights because the weather is so suited to being outdoor. The living area means you are with your loved ones while cooking. It's all very social.

The natural light and 

The only criticism is that you have to pay extra for air conditioning. I felt this should have been included  for the price. It sounds like a jet engine is landing above your head. 

Tips and things helpful to know:
1. Check in is at a hotel further down the road called Cala Dora.
2. The hotel is behind la siesta bar, not where the pin is currently on google maps.
3. The top floor apartments look to have an unobstructed sea view, the middle floor is impeded by trees, but keep in mind this does provide more privacy.

Bottom line: would definitely stay again, would ask for the rooms on the top floor and would hope to book further in advance to get a slightly cheaper rate.



Apt for a week at the beach

Stayed in studio with balcony for 5 nights.excellently located near the harbour & beach, plenty of nearbye bars, restaurants, supermarkets etc.Couple of minor issues on arrival but these were swiftly & graciously sorted by the owners of the hotel that also own the apartment.We were given a welcome drink & snack which was much appreciated.The apartment was on 2nd floor, there is a lift but we tended to use the stairs.Side sea view from balcony & also view over the village.Basic self catering accommodation,nothing fancy but was clean & suited our needs at a very reasonable price.Would recommend if your looking for self catering in a great location.Room was spacious, light & airy, beds reasonably comfortable.Kitchen area basic but we found it adequate for simple meals.Hubby would have liked a microwave, not bothered myself, but a dish cloth & tea towel would have been useful.
