Atlantic Wave House B&B

This was our first stay with Caitlin and it could not have been better. 
We were welcomed warmly and offered a much needed cuppa after our long drive from the airport. 
Our room was a good size, spotless, comfortable and well equipped. We had a continental style breakfast each morning and there was always plenty to eat. We never left the table hungry. 
Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and we felt very welcome. 
The views from the house, rooms and dining room are stunning. 
Caitlin really is the ‘hostess with the mostest’ and we consider ourselves very fortunate to have stayed in her beautiful home. 


Quiet place and a lovely host. The kids enjoyed the beach (quiet and secure) and we enjoyed the pub that is nearby. The house was beautiful with great views.

Everyone on the island was very friendly. We will come back for sure.

Spent a couple of nights, wished it could have been more.  Quiet, lovely large rooms, great breakfast and wonderful views of the sunset and the sea.  Off the beaten track.  Hostess Caitlyn recommended a music festival that was terrific - all in Gaelic, done by and for locals, not tourists.  Great value - would recommend & stay again!  A lovely corner of Ireland not many get to see.  Be sure to check out Kylemore Abbey if you are in the area.

Very beautiful surrounding (sea, islands, palms, farm land and pub in short distance) and house, nice and big room, house and room very clean, good breakfast and last but not least very kind and nice hosts - would like to come again and stay longer.

Myself and my children stayed here recently for one night. Caitlin was extremely welcoming on our arrival. Our room consisted of one double and three single beds and was extremely spacious. They even had some board games in the room which went down a treat with my children ! The beds were very comfortable and we had a very restful night. Room was also extremely clean. For breakfast we couldn't have asked for more. We each had a full Irish breakfast which was delicious. With plenty of toast and cereals should you wish to have some. The view from the breakfast table was looking out at the wonderful coast of Ireland. Great start to any morning. I would highly recommend this B & B and hope to return some day with my family.

Although it was only for one night, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Caitlin at Atlantic Wave. 
Great communication beforehand to accommodate our changing plans and, when we finally arrived, the warmest of welcomes.
The house is in a stunning position and is immaculate inside. 
There's a great little beach a short walk away which is simply stunning.
We had a great breakfast and when it was time to leave Caitlin was there again to offer her best wishes for our onwards journey - so friendly. 
I cannot recommend Atlantic Wave highly enough - it was an excellent experience! 😀

This was the Ireland we pictured. Caitlin was wonderful we felt at home right away! The views were amazing! Well worth the drive, Room were beyond clean! Breakfast was wonderful what more can we say it was Excellent! 

This is a delayed review (because I had technical issues the first time and didn't come back to it until now) but it is important to me to write it to make sure that others know how incredible the Atlantic Wave B and B and its hosts, Caitlin and Michael, and their daughter, were.  We did not expect to arrive at such a stunning and austerely beautiful place when we booked our stay last June. The drive from Galway was incredibly beautiful as others have noted and as we made our way through mazes of stone walls and grassy fields for grazing cows and sheep we were amazed to find that the rural beauty continued right to the water's edge.  Caitlin told us about a path we could take to a public beach just down the road that we found peaceful, quiet and lovely. The environment at the Atlantic Wave B and B and surrounding area made it impossible to feel any stress at all. You just had to slow down, relax and be a part of the environment.  Caitlin and Michael were gracious hosts, sharing stories about prior storms that came through the area and their histories in the area, offering comforts and entertainment and even helping my son who was suffering from a toothache while we were there.  The breakfast was incredible and we left feeling like we had experienced something that we definitely wanted to come back to. Thank you Caitlin and Michael and hope to see you again!

     Where to begin?!?  It's almost impossible to explain how amazing it was to stay in Caitlin and Michael's home.  Words just don't do it justice.  Nonetheless I will make my attempt.  Driving to Atlantic Wave from Galway was absolutely beautiful from start to finish.  The rustic beautiful landscape was exquisite.  Arriving at Atlantic Wave felt like you had reached the furthest corner of the Earth.  We were greeted by our host who had the most beautiful welcoming blue eyes I have ever seen and a smile that truly warmed the heart.  We stayed in the family suite which was well equipped with all of the comforts of home.  
     There is an island a short boat ride away called Mason Island.  My father grew up in Galway and his grand-parents met on Mason Island many years ago.  Caitlin arranged for a local Captain to motor us over to Mason Island.  There we trekked the beautiful island, visiting the school my great-grandmother taught in. Shortly after my great-grandmother came to teach in the school she met her soon-to-be-husband, my great grandfather.  They built a home just steps from the school and we walked through their home as well.  The school and their home were for the most part crumbling rubble stone but the foundation and parts of the walls were still intact.  It was an amazing experience.
     Caitlin and Michael went the extra mile throughout the duration of our stay, and we are what you might call "high-maintenance".  All of our needs were met and Caitlin far exceeded our expectations.  She and Michael have an amazing sense of humor and there is no shortage of wit and charm.  Just very caring genuine people.  I can't say enough about them.
     When you visit Atlantic Wave be sure to ask Caitlin about some of the beautiful artwork on the walls.  Aside from being an extraordinary host, Caitlin is an extremely talented artist.  The breakfasts were to die for, the coffee was nice and strong, the tea was amazing, and the views were unparalleled.  Atlantic Wave is 5 stars all the way!  Thank you so much Caitlin and Michael,
