Lovely guest house Maria the owner couldn't do enough for you
The breakfast was outstanding cold meats cereal, yoghurt, cheese lovely sourdough bread and for a small cost a fried breakfast.
Our room could of done with a bit of upgrading (Robin room)
Ideally situated in Midleton would recommend a trip to Cobh. Overall a great stay would return

Good Guesthouse

We chose to stay in Midleton because we wanted to escape the buzz in Cork. The An Stor was one of our most favorite places during our three week long trip. One of us has ambulatory limitations and when Maria, the hostess and owner, observed her difficulties to climb the stairs, she changed our room from the second to the first floor without us having to ask for it [for Americans reading this, recall that outside of America, the first floor is one level above the “ground” floor]. Very compassionate and attentive.

The beds were very comfortable, and there was an electric kettle and a fridge in the room. It was quiet and peaceful, just like Midleton.

The breakfast the next morning was probably the best we were offered during all of our stay in Ireland. There was everything that anyone could ever want for a gourmet breakfast. Maria had so much variety in the best possible quality, and also offered eggs and bacon. Maria’s husband is a butcher and they clearly take a lot of pride in providing their guests with the best possible experience. There were incomparably tasty, fresh berries on the table. The avocado was perfect. The salmon was special, as it was Beech-smoked and we’re quite sure, this was the best smoked salmon we had in our life. It was caught locally and smoked locally with a smokehouse built by a friend of Maria’s husband. There was also a microwave in the breakfast room so you could make your own hot chocolate.

Since we checked out on a less busy Sunday, Maria let us use our room for an hour longer than the usual checkout time. This was incredibly helpful since we had a lot of time on our hands before our bus was leaving, plus we were exhausted.

And before I end, of course, we were lucky enough to meet the border collie Glen, who was well mannered and friendly and just a joy to be around. He is an elderly gent now and retired, but still the rightful chappie of An Stor house. We did not think that he begged or crowded us at the breakfast table but rather asked very politely and did not react offended when we declined offering him any goodies.

This is an absolutely perfect place to stay as a home base to visit Cork, if you want some peace and to experience the slower pace of a smaller Irish town. 

We can’t recommend Maria’s place highly enough. We could not have had a better experience or a better hostess. We would love to return one day. Big thank you to Maria for everything you did for us.

We can’t recommend An Stor highly enough.

We arrived in the evening after a long drive and received such a lovely welcome. The owners have the most friendly tri colour collie called Glenn which really added to our visit as I miss my own dogs so much being away. 

He greeted us every morning with a waggy tail, such a lovely natured dog. I would stay again just to see Glenn alone. 

We stayed in a double room over looking the car park, my husband is a terribly light sleeper but he had no issue with noise at all as it is away from the Main Street.

The room had an incredibly comfortable bed, a fridge which was so handy and tea and coffee facility’s, really everything you would want. It was a really nice size as well. 

The breakfast is some of the best we have ever had. Cereal, croissants, every bread you could think of, hot cross buns, yogurts, berries, fruit and then the full Irish, sure we were set up for the day. 

On the Saturday we were directed to the farmers market, such a treat. If only we lived closer. They had street food like Mexican and fresh pizzas, roasts, then pastry’s and breads and even fresh fruit. 

The shops and restaurants are plentiful, we were just here for a relaxing long weekend and that is exactly what we got.

Middleton is a busling town with everything you need for a nice relaxing break away. We would not hesitate to return, An Stor has wonderful hosts that made us feel so so welcome, lovely comfortable affordable accommodation and they have something no other bed and breakfast around has and that is Glenn.

Another flawless visit. Very flexible with check in time. It’s my 4th or 5th stay here and my first port of call when checking availability in the area. 
A two minute walk to the town centre make it a perfect location for all your needs be they business or social.

The host was amazing and so interesting. I wish I had more time to chat to her.

What more do you need.
Loved having a fridge in my room to keep the local produce I bought cool and fresh.

I will definitely stay here again should I be in the area.

Hidden Gem!

Stayed in An Stor for one night to go to a concert in Cork city. The owner was so helpful and friendly upon arriving. Room was very clean and spacious. Breakfast was very good. Would definitely return another time. Excellent b&b and service.

We recommend An Stor Townhouse in Midleton Ireland, if you want a homey atmosphere for your Bed and Breakfast. Within walking distance of local restaurants and stores, our hostess also offered a continental and/or full Irish breakfast the next morning. 

Wonderful hostess!

What a lovely gem in the heart of Midleton. The owner is so helpful, with great banter. The apartment was spacious, super clean and had every amenity one could ask for. This place is very centrally located, with good parking outside. The continental breakfast was outstanding. Will definitely be back!!

Fantastic place

We had a really lovely 2 night stay at An Stor. It has a quiet setting, with free parking for guests,  but is only a couple of minutes walk from the main street of Midleton, with a great selection of bars and restaurants. Midleton Station is also nearby with direct links to Cork. Now we've discovered it, we'll definitely be back!

Comfortable room, lovely breakfasts and friendly, helpful host.

We were greeted by a wonderful women who was very accomodating. She allowed our dog to stay also , for any pet owners finding a place that allows pets to stay also is a rare gem to find .  
Family room was warm , beds were clean and comfortable, tea and coffee left out for us to help ourselves. 
Room also had a little fridge and TV. 
Great stay and highly recommended .
