Ballyheefy Lodge

Our hosts were very friendly.  The room and bathroom were adequate but on the small side.  We had a sliding glass door to the backyard which provided a lovely view of the countryside.  Our room and bath were clean.  Breakfast was very good....full Irish or cereal or both.  A pub is located just a few minute walk down the hill.

Geraldine & Paddy, the hosts were absolutely fantastic!!  Extremely friendly and helpful in getting to know the lay of the land.  The beds were the most comfortable on our trip to Ireland so far.

Our room was well decorated and super clean with a fabulous view of the fields, hills and lake.  We had a patio off our room and I sat there on the picnic table some times for hours just taking in the spectacular views.  Gorgeous rolling hills with the lake, watching the cattle in the field, it just does not get any better than this.  The property is well situated between Ogonnoloe & Killaloe and almost next door to Piper's Inn in case you are looking for some awesome food and great times in a beautiful pub.

The breakfast was excellent and service was second to none.  No pressure to eat at 7:00, 7:30 or 8:00 so if you wish to catch a wee bit extra sleep, Geraldine didn't seem to matter.

All in all, it was a spectacular B&B and we'd stay here in a heartbeat again. Our good local friends, Martin & Denise recommended it to us and we were treated like royalty.  Give it a stay, as you will not be disappointed.

When in Ireland never underestimate Co Clare the banner Co and the Killaloe/Ballina area Irelands best kept secret and once capital of Ireland The area has much to see and the banks of Lough Derg is lovely indeed the birthplace of Brian Boru  You will find most superb place to stay on the Killaloe side heading to Taumgraine called Ballyheefy grand in every respect inside and out with truly inspiring views As for the quarters they are first rate and best around with lady of house Geraldine to look after you and excellent food  So do yourself a favor and see for yourself  Slan go foill  Tadhg

Fabulous time at this lodge views to die for, hostess brilliant great breakfast everything you could wish for would go back in a heartbeat. Good pubs nearby just in 5 mins walking distance good bistro down the road , nice nearby town called Ennis

Most Awesome B & B & What a View

The situation and the views are magnificent but the B & B itself was very ordinary and disappointing.  The bedroom itself was OK but the bathroom was a bit on the small side - and there were no towel rails!  Breakfast was OK, but the breakfast room was very soul-less.  The hostess was helpful and friendly.  A good pub just five minutes walk up the road was a real bonus for an evening meal..
However, we stayed two nights and were dumbfounded on our return to the B & B for our second night to find that the room had not been serviced or cleaned, the bed had not been made and tea/coffee cups had not been washed up or supplies replenished.  Never before have we experienced such a situation - had we stayed at a youth hostel then maybe this is acceptable and to be expected, but not a three star B & B.
