Harmonius Surf Camp

Good things...The size and layout of the room was fantastic. The gardens were beautiful. The pool was clean and the pool area was a nice place to hang out. The staff were friendly enough but not imposing. The property only has 3 rooms so it's more like staying in a villa than a hotel. It is in a quiet peaceful area. It is a 10 minute walk to Bingan beach and a 10 minute walk to the shops and restaurants. We hired a car which made it much easier to get around and explore other beaches and to get supplies. There is no food or bar service in the off season so they didn't mind us bringing in our own food and drinks. They provided us with lots of glasses of ice. On the way to the beach there is a mini-mart which is more expensive than you would expect but it has all the basics. A little further along, there is the Temple Lodge where you can get a lovely breakfast and a great massage. Not so good things... The bathroom and bar fridge were not clean. There were no tea and coffee making facilities (we went out and bought a kettle on the second day). The pillows are flat. When we asked for two extra pillows, they said they could only give us one (even though we were the only guests staying at that stage). There is no food or bar services in the off season. The staff hung out in the bar area watching TV (loudly) most of the day. It would have been better if they played music as the bar is right by the pool. The soundproofing between the ground floor rooms and the upstairs room is not great - we could hear every footstep of the upstairs guests.
