Quinta da Graca

As I slowly relished the last slice of mango from the trees of Quinta da Graca, I couldn't help but smile in sheer happiness. From now on, I can never eat a mango and not think of this beautiful place tucked away in the by lanes of Saligao. I wouldn't have enjoyed the Goan summer so much, if not for the amazing hosts, their warm reception, picturesque home, ripened fruits freshly plucked from the abundance of trees, the easy breezy courtyard, high ceilinged old Indo Portuguese rooms and so much more. Here I could spend hours sitting at the courtyard, without a fan, just lazily reading my novel. The morning breeze couldn't have made my yoga practice any more fulfilling. This place could easily be an artist's retreat! Every nook and corner is worth starting at in awe. I stayed here for a day with my family and needless to say I didn't feel like leaving the place. I had booked the room named Manga. Even though it was a non AC room and it's peak summer, we were extremely comfortable nonetheless. I loved the breakfast uncle aunty put together for us the next morning. It had the coconut bread (a Goan speciality), farm grown bananas, home grown mangoes, sapota and some deliciously made eggs. Overall, we loved the entire stay and experience and would love to come back again with more time :)
