Arma Hostel Mumbai

We had a really good stay at the Arma hostel and were welcomed into the arms of Mumbai and all its craziness and beauty by those who worked there. The rooms were clean and cool, with big beds! The bathroom was clean, modern, and worked well. Located in East Bandra and straight off a street that is a informal market during the day, you get a feel for the real city. A stripped down and very real feel of what it means to live in one of the craziest and most interesting places in the world. The 'Get Local' tour was the highlight of our short stay. A social project to introduce tourists to every nook and cranny of the sprawling city and in the space of a day show them what it means to be a "localite". The tour which ran from 2 in the afternoon through to the late evening gave us a real insight into every part of the city. From the Bollywood character of West Bandra, to the rooms and chests of wonders worthy of Hollywood film sets in the Old Town and Chor Bazar, to the clean and money green streets of the southern more 'European' sector of the city. It was a day to savor and provided a thorough and fulfilling view into the lives of the people of Mumbai as fast paced as the city itself!
