I am so grateful to Erica and Salvador for the wonderful experience they provided to me at Avalon Inn during my stay. They couldn't do enough to help me and make me feel safe and supported as a solo female traveller. I stayed in a bungalow which was immaculate and so clean and cleaned daily. It was also so quiet, serene and peaceful and away from the noise but still close enough to many restaurants and the beach too. I will definitely be returning when I come back to mandrem :)

The most peaceful place with the most wonderful hosts

The room I stayed in was very clean, pretty and had good wifi connection. I really liked the garden. Salvador and Erika very really helpful with facilitating transport from airport to the inn and a tour in Goa. 

Beautiful, peaceful place close to the sea

I can only confirm all the travelers' information. The place is not on the beach. Yes. But the way there is very short. We were in the villa. The room is good and the small kitchen very pleasant. We can warmly recommend the place. Erika. Thank you very much and maybe we can visit you at the Hostal Capurgana?

Peace, cleanliness, kindness, service

Since 2009 I travel to India and in 2011 I came to Mandrem and fell in love with the place. At beautiful ( peaceful and quiet) Avalon Inn I held 2 Yoga-Retreats so far and came back 4 times myself to enjoy the familiar environment. I like Erika’s reliable professional way to handle all important things like booking-arrangements and taking care of things you might forget (booking taxi to the airport) because you are so relaxed 😎 after a while and Salvador always has a smile on his face. I enjoyed very much teaching on the platform on top of the villa with seaview. For women traveling alone this is an absolutely safe place. Whatever you need ( Scooter, Taxi, daytrip) will be organized and they love to satisfy their guests with tips for nice day trips as well as nice recommendations for restaurants. They treat you like friends and share all they know about Mandrem and surroundings. I can highly recommend this place for a perfect holiday. Everything in the room is clean and the nice garden is well taken care of. It’s a special atmosphere here, come and check it out. I will definitely come back again.

Since years a place to feel at home

I loved my stay at the Avalon Inn. Erika and Salvador were very helpful, and always up for a chat. As a solo female traveler I felt very safe in this location. It’s about a five minute walk from the beach, where there are plenty of restaurants and beach chairs to hang out in, but it’s away from the very busy touristy areas. Erika’s restaurant recommendations were also great-the food was very good and I did not have any stomach issues, which is always a plus! I also did the heritage tour which was arranged through the inn, so got to see Panjim, Mapusa and Old Goa by car, which was a lot of fun. I also loved that I could set up a taxi to/from the airport and the rates were extremely reasonable.

They stock the inn with inexpensive water bottles so you don’t have to worry about drinking water. Cleaning is done daily, and my cottage was spotless the whole time I was there. I found the bed to be very comfortable. Although it was very hot outside during the day, the fan inside the cottage kept it very cool, and at night the temperature was perfect.

I stayed during December, and I probably saw a total of two mosquitoes the whole time I was there-it was not buggy at all. The cottages have mosquito nets but I found it almost unnecessary to use. There are occasionally frogs and geckos that may visit you, but I found them very cute! I also saw some beautiful birds such as peafowl and kingfishers on the property, so if you’re into birdwatching this is a great place to stay.

Peaceful little place

Had the most fantastic and peaceful 12 nights staying here early in December. The cottage was immaculate (cleaned daily!) the location was serene and just moments away from yoga classes and the beach. And Erika and Salvador were incredibly helpful and accommodating hosts. I will most certainly be back!

Home away from home!

Yes, I went back to Mandrem and stayed at Avalon Inn for the third time. I love the place; it is calm and the cottages and bungalows are cosy and the rooms even spacier. Happy with the very clean policy and even happier with the excellent and very friendly hosts who will do their utmost to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It is near the beach and many restaurants and other facilities, lots of yoga classes available closeby. Taxi pick for the airport; what could one want more? Going back, yes, and for sure. As you understand by now I highly recommend Avalon Inn (also if you travel by yourself like me).

Excellent, comfortable place and lovely hosts

Quiet & friendly place, Erika and Salvador gives the most welcoming and thoughtful hospitality, just 10 min from the beach and the crowd. Stayed there for 2 times and we definitely come back next season. 

Pearl of Mandrem

I come back and back to this place, and not just because Avalon Inn has a homely and welcoming feel about it; it is enchanting here, and I love to watch the sunset from my balcony, or listen to the chorus of birdsong when I wake up. The beautiful Mandrem beach 
(apparently the last quiet place left in North Goa) is minutes walk away through the neighbouring  yoga centre.

 Innkeepers Erika and Salvador manage the place with an eye for detail (the sheets are pressed and matching; the rooms are tastefully done up. I’m a solo female traveller, and I can say I feel safe and secure here. 

I have twice stayed in the ‘Onyx' room, which is in the ‘Villa’. This is the higher budget option of accommodation, and has large sunny bathroom. On my latest stay I was in the ‘Opal Cottage’ which has a Westerly facing balcony, so I loved sitting and reading while the sun was going down. The cottage is the budget option, and while I had an en-suite toilet, I was sharing an outside shower. I loved watching the stars while being under the water. These rooms are more close to nature, and I occasionally found a cute frog in the loo or a gecko on the wall.  In both rooms, I had a desk so I could set up a work-space, and there is also a fridge in each of these options.  

I can’t recommend Avalon Inn highly enough!

My home away from home

The place is really beautiful with a beautiful rooftop where people can practice yoga enjoying the palms and sea. Owners and workers also are lovely and they help you with that you need. The beach is very near with a lot of restaurants and even that is really quiet. So grateful with this place.
