Great host family very friendly made us feel like part of the family. Sukran is such a lovely gentleman, so so helpful  nothing was too much trouble, he organised everything for us ;;from our laundry washing to booking tickets for evening shows, to sunrise trekking/bamboo rafting adventure in the Periyer national park and  taxi for our onward journey. 
Sukran one afternoon  took us to places that no other tourists would have been too off the beaten track, stunning scenic places thank you Sukran!!.
We done a cookery lesson on traditional kerela food with the family including sukrans eldest daughter who was a bright young lady, we had a wonderful evening it was lots of fun especially the way they slice onion and vegetables without a chopping it was amazing to watch sukrans wife made it look so easy to do but it wasn't when we tried!!
One evening we  went to a yodah martial arts show which was very interesting we really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it.
Our room was fantastic with private balcony we also had a bath!!! With stunning views.
Breakfast was delicious and plentiful juice, tea, omelette and plenty of toast and jam.
Location was good short walk to the hustle bustle!

Fantastic home stay 

We stayed at Panthalam Homestay as we (group of 6) booked a trekking tour in Periyar Tiger Reserve. 
The house is spacious and and rooms (including bathroom) are nice and clean. Views into the valley are stunning and there is a superb rooftop terrace to hang out. 
Yet, the best about our experience was meeting entertaining Shuku and his family. At any time of the stay, we were spoilt. Due to our late arrival, we were able to have a delicious dinner at the homestay. Further, there was breakfast options available, including coffee and tea. Although the homstay is only a few 100m away from town, Shuku drove and picked us up several times.  
If you need help or information, you'll ask Shuku and he'll help to arrange it for fair prices (tours, transport). 
After our trekking tour, we decided for a spontaneous cooking class at the homstay, learning about Keralan dishes. Afterwards, we had dinner with Shuku and his family, learning more about India. If you're looking for an authentic and friendly homestay experience, I highly recommend.

Great hosting ❣️

 Lovely room with balcony from which we were able to see wildlife. The TV didn’t work, but not a dealbreaker for us. The breakfast was fine, but it wasn’t possible to have any other meals at the homestay. Luckily, we had a driver otherwise it would’ve been a bit of a walk to find anywhere to eat. 

Value for money homestay in beautiful location.

The host family has been fantastic, very helpful, kind, and great chefs! We had a comfortable stay, the rooms were clean, and the roof area provided great sunrise and sunset.
If we return to thekkady, we will stay here again.

Fantastic hosting

We had a lovely stay here at Panthalaam Homestay! We were a group of 40 and we had one of the best times! The rooms were really nice and they were extremely well maintained especially the bathrooms! Also the owner Mr. Abdul and his entire family were there to help us throughout the stay with whatever we wanted and also arranged all our sightseeing..! Also the food was yum! We stayed there for 2 nights and 3 days and made the most of this time! It was a lovely experience and we would love to go back! :)

Wonderful Experience!

Excellent location. The room was very good with balcony and a swing in it. Mr. Sukoor is very helpful and is always available for help.
He also helped to plan the sight seeing and suggested the ways to do then. It helped very much considering we were traveling with my 2 year old daughter.

Excellent place to stay with great family to support 

My wife and I came here on one of our stops for our honeymoon. Shukkrr and family welcomed us and made us feel at home from the start. They were super helpful with tips on what we can do and how we can plan our days. And don't get us started about the food... They are wizard's in the kitchen; the food was so good, we ate so much traditional food, we've taken some recipes and will try them at home!
The rooms are super comfortable, and there is no need for A/C. Because you're in the mountains, it's was cool in the evenings and very few insects as we were there in the dry season. The views from the rooftop were brilliant; after days spent trekking in the jungle, it was nice to come back to the homestay and chill out on the hammocks! It's very well located, near the national park and other cool things. One final note, Shukkrr and family were incredible. Honestly one of the best experiences we've ever had. We're definitely recommending this place to all our friends and family, and for sure we are coming back as three days was definitely not enough!! 

A Home away from Home

Woodnote is really good hotel in Thekkady and we really enjoyed our stay here. The woodnote hotel has their own restaurant named Drizzle which is serving very delicious food specially north Indian dish was really really yummy😋.

Short trip

My family and me stayed at Panthalams homestay for 3 days. I sincerely admit that I didn't even have one complaint about the place. It's clean, spacious and homely. The food they serve and their hospitality is beyond good. The owner and family made sure that we had nothing to complaint about. They were like family to us. They guided us with their heart about the lesser known tourist spots and attractions in Thekkady. I am happy to say that it was our luck we didn't chose to stay in a hotel or any other lodge. They are committed to our hospitality and well being. Without Panthalams homestay and its team my family and me wouldn't have had such an eventful, beautiful and amazing holiday. Every second spend with them will aleays be remembered.
