What a magical place! Inside the fort so we were collected from the gate by Tuk Tuk. Once inside, the hotel is fabulous and our room exceptional with views over the palace and surrounding area. Delightfully and traditionally furnished, comfortable bed and a day bed as well. A great balcony to sit in and watch life go by. It even had its own roof terrace. Bhanu was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. About Jaisalmer and  pretty much everywhere else in India. His team were courteous and attentive. Just fabulous!

A magical place

The location and aesthetic of the hotel are superb. It is part of the Old, living fort. The views are spectacular and one is immersed in the best part of Jaisalmer. Everyone at the hotel we’re so helpful with every need and lots of good advice. The rooms are beautiful and the beds extremely comfortable. I highly suggest staying there if you visit.

Kila bhawan is definitively the place where to be in the golden city; the charm of the old fort, the Rajasthani atmosphere and the decor of the place and of each rooms, the view on the city also, will make your stay unforgettable.
The staff is so welcoming, kind, and helpful to make your trip unique.
You have all comfort in your room and bathroom, WiFi also available and you can take your breakfast there too.

Dream place to stay in Jaisalmer

This was the best hotel stay in our 2 weeks in Rajasthan. Incredible location in the old fort. The absolute perfect place to celebrate Holi as a family, very friendly and happy atmosphere. Also an amazing hotel to experience the living fort of Jaisalmer. Beautifully done out. Immaculate with such friendly staff. Fantastic breakfast with great coffee and chai. Mr Bhanu will welcome you to your home, and it honestly feels like it. Very special place and unique experience in India. Highly recommend for families, couples and any traveller wanting to experience genuine Rajasthani hospitality!

Phenomenal location and genuine Rajasthani hospitality

We had the pleasure of staying here for a couple of days. Excellent location inside the fort with glorious views of the city and sunrise. The rooms were so nicely done and it made you feel like royalty. Bhanu ji and his staff too really good care of us . All in all a truly memorable experience! A must if you get the chance !

A Royal experience

A home away from home. What an incredible place to stay. The views, the hospitality and the location are second to none. Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel at home and encourage you to treat the property as your own. We stayed four nights and spent one day lazing in the property and enjoying the sights and sounds of Jaisalmer. We felt very relaxed and refreshed! Jaisalmer is a wonderful city to visit and if you can, I would highly recommend staying in this unique property.

A home away from home

Like all other bengalis of my generation, I had grown up watching Satyajit Ray's classic 'Sonar Kella' and often dreamt of visiting and living in this wonderful desert fort in Jaisalmer, which is probably the only living fort in India. Killa Bhawan made this dream into a reality. Situated within the fort, Killa Bhawan provides you a unique staying experience. Bhanu-ji, Manish and the team with their wonderful hospitality ensures that Killa Bhawan becomes your home away from home. We stayed in room no. 10, which not only had its own history but also a spectacular view of the Fort. Next time I visit Jaisalmer, I will stay in Killa Bhawan only, and that too in Room No 10.

Killa Bhawan - a unique staying experience inside the Sonar Kella, Jaisalmer

Fantastic hotel situated in the old fort. You have a great view over the palace and the city. 
The service is excellent, they really treat you well here. They arrange everything you need. 
We stayed 2 nights and came back to wait for train and were welcomed again.

You live like a queen here. Helpful, service, view, clean, well managed

We loved our stay at Killa Bhawan. The hotel is a handful of clean, thoughtfully curated and very well air conditioned rooms set inside the Jaisalmer Fort. The hotel has a rooftop terrace where we enjoyed our breakfast and watching the sunset. This was by far one of our favourite properties during our stay in India. 

Besides the stunning location, the staff and especially the owners, Mr. Bhanu & Mr. Manish, are what made our stay extra special. They arranged a complimentary auto ride to and from the hotel upon check-in and check-out, accommodated an early breakfast for us the morning we left Jaisalmer, gave us tons of local advice, and even agreed to mail us an item that we left behind. They are always happy to have a conversation and want you to feel at home. There is always a fridge stocked with bottled water and the most delicious chai available any time. 

We look forward to staying at Killa Bhawan in the future and would highly recommend this property for anyone looking for an authentic and unique experience in Jaisalmer.

Best hospitality in India!

Killa Bhawan was one of the most interesting hotels I have ever stayed at; it gave me the experience of staying inside the 12th Century Fort and has incredible views of the city. The room was locally decorated and really made me feel like I was staying somewhere unique while providing all modern comforts. The owners/staff are very professional and helped organize a tour of the city, a desert safari, and transportation to/from Jodhpur. Their handling of logistics made the trip very enjoyable.
