First of all this not oyo hotels /rooms ,wrongly mentioned here ..very basic hotel with basic amenities.very low voltage thats why they don't provide room heater as per the hotel administration,but other hotels do provide in dirang.plus points are near market,on the main road,huge parking space, budget type .negetive points no proper house keeping and but people's are very friendly and always ready to help,rooms are very small and dirty furniture.

Budget friendly rooms

We stayed here for two days. Hotel is really very good having all amenities. Rooms are spacious and we'll maintained and room service is satisfactory. Staffs are well mannered. Reception gives a very warm welcome to its guests. Complementary breakfast is available and provides sufficient amount of food. Restaurant is also very good and food quality & qualtity both are more than satisfactory. Highly recommended for tourists who want good hotels in pocket friendly budget. Location is also good as it's just 5min away from MG Road.

Good location hotel with a comfortable stay

We stayed here from June 1st to 5th. Most of the plug points and charging points were not working, bathroom door cannot be locked. In the complimentary breakfast the food served was not in proper quantity, even we were served rotten eggs. We reported it to the person seemed to be owner/ manager of the hotel. The only step he took was asking a boy to fetch an egg for him to check it out if we are telling truth. The dining was not well cleaned the food quality was average. We had to leave the curry untouched everyday as it was full of dry chilli flakes. We booked an OYO room so we had no idea of the other rooms. The room service was good but the main door of the hotel remain locked at night and we had to phone a guy sleeping at the first floor to open it before morning walk.

Good location otherwise not well maintained

1.This is an OYO property. Even though Fab Group also lays claim to it, they  do not put up a board indicating their connection with it. There can never be any meeting ground between a no frills budget hotel chain and another chain.Guests book thinking it is a Fab property based on their website claims  and realise later that they have been taken  on an OYO ride.

2.There is a vast difference between the Fab Hotels website claims and reality. Although located close to M G Marg , the road is noisy and full of vehicle movement throughout the day. You will get very little time to dismount from the vehicle and remove your luggage. There is no parking space as claimed. The lobby , which is a crucial element in the hotel industry and an indicator of what to expect, is shabby and tacky with torn foam of the chairs and choice of flooring making it look always dirty.  Rooms have artistic paintings but thats all. Ill lit bathrooms, ill fitting doors and latches. Wifi is available only in the lobby and not in rooms. A pair of slippers and soap and shampoo ( but no dental kit)  and two 500 ml bottles of water are provided. A tea/coffee maker is provided but you have to ask and insist on tea/coffee/sugar/milk sachets and cups and saucers. The website claims there are AC’s but they are neither needed nor present.The free breakfast is limited to aloo puri or parantha and bread butter/sandwiches and boiled eggs. 

3. Most worrisome of all is the fact that the entrance shutters are locked at night and the key is given to a staff member who sleeps in a room on the first floor. His mobile number is displayed in the lobby. God forbid if there is some emergency and the staff member is not able to access his phone or someone is not able to ring him in time , then it is a disaster waiting to happen. If locking up the guests at night is proof of the hotel claim of 24X7 security, then God help the guests. The shutters are unlocked at around 7 am.The fire in a Delhi hotel a couple of months back, where escape was not possible since the emergency exit was locked, is  a case in point. The lift is not operational at night. 

4. I found their approach to be unprofessional and casual. Inspite of booking about 6 weeks in advance and getting confirmation that adjacent rooms would be provided, they allotted one room near the lobby and another on another floor. The ostensible reason was that landslides in North Sikkim two days ago had resulted in a rush for accommodation in Gangtok. At such times should the overstaying guest be asked to adjust or the one with the confirmed booking for the day? After making a fuss through whatsapp messages to the person who had assured adjacent rooms, the room was changed the next day. The change was because the other guest had vacated and not because they wanted to correct their mistake. Assistance for local tours is also unreliable. Its better to make your touring arrangements through someone else and not the designated person in the hotel.  I found him insincere and prone to quoting exorbitant rates( Rs 10,000 for a trip to Nathu La when a hired SUV costs Rs 5000 and permit fees per person are only Rs 200. When asked to quote correct and reasonable rates he did not respond.When confronted in the hotel about his rates he claimed that he had quoted maximum rates as asked by me! I had to show him the actual texts and ask which sane person would  ask for maximum rate since obviously the sky is the limit. During our stay we met other guests who had some issue or the other with the hotel.

5.If you are only concerned about location but not about comforts or safety , then stay here. Evidently neither OYO nor Fab Hotels have inspected the place  and taken care to ensure that the property is aesthetic and safe.Both OYO and Fab are being irresponsible, especially on the safety aspect.

The reason behind booking this property is its proximity to MG Marg. It is almost just a 5min walking distance.

CheckIn was quick & they added extra charge for payment for using Card which is illegal. Though it says OYO but can be booked through FABEXPRESS as well & prices are better here.

Rooms are huge with large side beds, extra bed, etc, Note that extra bed provided were not as comfortable as the big beds. Bathrooms were clean & big. The room allocated to us has problem with stinky smell coming from bathroom. We reported this & they rectify it temporarily. Next morning it started again & we asked them to change the room & they did. It is not good practice to keep customer in faulty room for over night. You should have decency to offer another room immediately once issue reported but NO you just don't care!

The room provided was not as big as the previous one but free from smell. The complementary mineral water was provided in day of arrival ONLY & stopped later on.

Breakfast is just OK. They arranged Taxi for us for sight seeing & the driver was good.

Hotel Snow Lion

I spent one night I this hotel, before deciding to move to another one. Very humid room, really bad smell of moistures, TV not working, boys hardly understand anything, water leaking off the boiler in the bathroom, bed sheets smell humidity. I stop here: bad ratio price / quality (800 rupees off season) certainly not 3 stars at all. To be avoided at least in my opinion. Maybe the other floors are better. At your own risks. 

Not recommended

I booked this hotel in March(2 months in advance) for a May end stay(27-30 May 2018) with my family through Expedia and received confirmed itinerary(Itinerary no.#7341435381952; Conf# QXWF9460).
A day before check-in, I called up the hotel and heard that hotel has cancelled my booking for peak season overbooking. Shocked!! I called up Expedia, they also said they were shocked and had no clue from the hotel. I didn't get any alternate hotel during this peak season. Had no choice, cancelled my family vacation. 
Dont understand why such kind of dirty games are played with customers who need to do n number of plannings for such awaited family vacations.
