We love to sray in this place, George and Binduare perfect host and their daughter  is a very nice and helpful woman who will certainly make her way in life. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the host is a gifted captain at the traditional Snake Boats races. Rooms and bathrooms are of very good quality and the organized excursions are very good. we can highly recommend this place.

We have stayed wirth George and Bindu for 3 nights here (enough time to expereince everything here). We have loved it! The homestay is amazing and clean situated just on the river where you can see the place wake up and go to sleep. George and Bindu were incredible hosts, providing amazing food (pay at the end at very low prices). George has organised us smaller boating trips to see more of the backwaters, which was a wonderful expereicne. You can also take walks around yourself.  Highly reccomend this place if you want to experience the real backwaters and see the river life and not be on a polluting river boat.

We stay two nights at the thevercad homestay. It's peaceful and relaxed. We loved the great typical kerala food. Bindu is a great cook and its all fresh and homemade from the own garden.

This is a beautiful homestay in the heart of the backwaters. The wood-panelled guestrooms are actually erstwhile rice granaries. It sits right next to the Pamba river, and there are lush paddies all around. Food is one of the highlights of this place. We actually looked forward to meals being served. All ingredients are locally sourced, and the fish couldn't be any fresher. In fact you can catch some fish on your own at their pond! Look no further if you are after an authentic homestay experience near Alleppey. A big shout out to George and Bindu for their hospitality!!

Just returned from 3 days with George and his family at Thevacad honestly. Clean rooms, lovely outdoor rain shower and toilet. The most fabulous authentic Keralan food you’ll eat. Think pineapple jam, caramelised bananas, chicken curry, breads, desserts - I could go on- I have put on a kilo! George organised a boat trip once through the backwaters and another to Alleppey. A relaxing chill out spot off the beaten track. Highly recommend. They are wonderful hosts. My son even caught a fish in their giant fish pond.

I stayed in this fabulous homestay typical from kerala for 2 nights/3 days. If you are planning to visit kerala, I really recommend you to experience at least few days at thevercad homestay. You will be welcomed by such a beautiful family. They provide you high quality services and they prepare you delicious food typical from kerala.

We stayed with George and Bindu for two nights in October. Firstly, their place is incredibly clean and neat. Then, Bindu’s cooking was probably the best we had on our whole trip! They made us feel so welcome and out of their way to make our stay memorable.
Good tip -George organised a very special early morning canoe trip for us, highly recommended! 

The Thevercad Homestay was a family home riverside with only 2 rooms. It was 170 years old and decked out in dark wood with a great outdoor bathroom. One of the reasons I'd looked to stay here was the home cooking and despite arriving at 3:30pm lunch was pressed upon us. We were immediately glad we'd agreed. It was a delicious coconut, cucumber curry, a beetroot dry chutney and a beef dish almost like rendang. This excellent standard continued throughout our visit. 

Lovely family, very friendly and helpful. It is a very sleepy little village and as it is only accessible via boat don't expect to go anywhere much. We walked, did a boat trip and chilled out. Perfect for 2 nights. We had a family with a small child in the other room and it was very noisy so make sure you bring earplugs, other than that very relaxing!

Not enough words to tell how great is this place. Excellent location, looking at the water, with a pleasant veranda.  George and Bindu will do anything in order to make you feel good.  The food prepared by Bindu was very very good.

I can't recommend this homestay enough.  The rooms were beautiful with great air con and a lovely bathroom. It was so nice to spend time just sitting outside watching life on and off the river pass us by. We also got a houseboat for the day and then a canoe type boat trip the next day to go amongst the smaller waterways - George organised both for us and we had a really brilliant time. If you have the opportunity to also have lunch and/or dinner there we can't recommend it more. The food that Bindu makes for breakfast or any other meal is definitely some of the very best we had in India (if not ever!). The kindness of the whole family means you couldn't feel more welcome and we were sad to leave. A perfect little haven for a relaxing break!
(By the way you have to get a little boat - that goes back and forth all day - to get to the other side where the homestay is. We gave the number to the taxi driver for directions who took us from Alleppey to the homestay, which worked well.)
