The host was friendly and a bit of a neat freak which is great. He asked us to leave our shoes out in the hall so no dirt is tracked in. The guesthouse is quiet clean and near bus 11 which takes you to laekergata city center just get the straeto app and you can activate your bus pass when you board. There is wifi on the bus.

Here are a couple of things a guest needs to know 

1. Only take food from the fridge that is marked clearly to be taken, not the contents of the entire fridge. We bought groceries the night before for breakfast and put them in the fridge and clearly marked them. The next morning all of it was gone ! 

2. If you use a bathroom , leave door open when done so other guests know it's available.

The guests make the house not just the host

I'll sail against the tide here.

I found this to be an excellent place to stay, for superb value.

Clean, spacious guest house (so much so that the friendly but firm owner told us he expected us to leave it spotlessly clean) with impeccable bathrooms, plus kitchen, dining room, living room and terrace.  Excellent free WiFi.  All for the cheapest prices in Reykjavik!

Only miniscule negative is that guests have to ring the owner when they arrive - he turns up in under 10 minutes.

On a main road into the centre if you want to drive as we did, if not there is bus 11.

Nice guest house, great value for money

Took a chance and booked a guesthouse. Was really worried after reading some of the reviews but I had no need to have been worried. I found the manager to be very pleasant and chatty when I phoned on arrival. We were able to wait in the lounge area for someone to come show us  around.  Our room was lovely and big (triple room). The bathroom was large and clean (the shower was ace). The kitchen was  great, had everything we needed, clean and like home from  home. The drive into Reykjavik wasn't to far and we could have easily walked if we wanted. All in all we had a pleasant stay and would book again.

First time in Iceland

When your excpectations are not too high you will not be disapointed.

It's a house adjusted to be a guesthouse. As far as I know, it's the owner of Pavi guesthouse in town who ownes the house.

There is no reception, you simply call a number, and after a while a nice Rumanian guy shows up.

The rooms are of different sizes and quality, and the bed was quite good. The rooms are very basic. There's a kitchen that you can use and a diningroom.

Also 2 bathrooms of good size for shared use.

It's a suburbian area and very nice and quiet. Also, it's 6 km from town so you better have a rental to live here.

We had no trouble at all with the owner or anything, he was very kind and drove us to town one day.

I'd have no hesitation staying here again.

Not that bad

Unfortunately, it was the last of our bookings we made for our trip to Iceland, and booked this place in a hurry.  DO NOT STAY HERE,  ESPECIALLY IF YOUR TRAVELING AS A SINGLE WOMAN. The owner, was drunk!!! Rude, and inappropriate ly behaved.  Sat at our table while we ate, and ended up spitting in my food.  Came later to our door, with an excuse to help him find his cel phone.  When I refused, he became angry.  I was not comfortable the rest of the eveing, and had a terrible nights sleep.  As well, the curtains, on the window, were old shower curtains, that did not even cover the window.
