Wonderful overnight stay in this guesthouse located near the entrance to Eskifjordur. Room rates are very reasonable compared to similar accommodations seen or stayed in during our 10 day trip through Iceland. Amazingly, a full breakfast is included in the room, something rare without having to pay extra. Breakfast consisted of a help-yourself simple buffet of cereals, a local type of delicious yogurt with muesli, hard-boiled eggs, salami, cheese, tomatoes, bread, pastries, waffles with fixings, coffee/tea. There are eight rooms. Each is clean, bright, well-maintained and well-outfitted with clean plush linens and comforters, a cupboard, and a sink with mirror. The room we stayed in also had a small table with two chairs. A nice touch were not only the water glasses on the table but also wine glasses. Two large showers are down the hall in which are provided hair/shower gel. There are two toilets which are however located at the other end of the guesthouse through the common area where the TV is, which means you may have to cross in front of other guests who are watching the TV with a quick "excuse me." You enter the guesthouse through its attached restaurant which offers an extensive reasonably-priced menu of starters, and main courses of fish, lamb, burgers, pizzas. Owners are a lovely hospitable couple who have been managing the guesthouse for three years. The gentleman is a qualified chef as was evident from the quality and presentation of our dinner (we ate in the restaurant the night we arrived). All in all, I would highly recommend the guesthouse as an excellent valued place to overnight or stay a day or two while you explore the east fjords.
