Superb hotel, yummy breakfast. Awsome view on the fjord. Nice spacious rooms with a friendly. There is also a warm welcome by the cat from the neighbouring farm. He is nice and cuddly! I will go back whenever I am in the area.

We stayed in the guesthouse last week with my partner.First we had to go to the reception where we got our keys. There is parking by the guesthouse.

What I liked:

LOCATION: it's just off the main road and very easy to find. The surroundings are beautiful - we had a nice evening walk in the nearby field when the sun was going down at midnight.

BREAKFAST: although there is a kitchen in the guesthouse the breakfast is served in the main building. The dining area is light and big with enough space for everyone. There were plenty of choices to pick from. 

GUESTHOUSE: it's not too modern but clean and really big with plenty of space to sit, relax if someone has time to do that. The kitchen is big as well with all necessary facilities. The bathroom is quite modern and clean and the pressure is really good from the shower. There is no bath.

ROOM: I liked that we could put the heating on. Towels and bed linen are all provided. Rooms are quite small but for a short stay they're fine. There is no TV in the room. We got the room close to the bathroom but not directly next to it so I was pleased with that.

IN THE HOUSE: shoes need to be taken off in the house which everyone respected. I liked this idea as the house can be kept cleaner this way.

FACILITIES: as I said there is enough space to relax but I also liked that there was a separate toilet and not just the one in the bathroom.

WIFI: there is free wifi in the room and the connection is good.

What I was not so keen on:

WALLS: very thin. Two girls decided to have a long and loud conversation at 1 in the morning and we heard every single word. Eventually we knocked on the wall. It didn't ruin our stay but it can be annoying. Because of this reason try not to get the room next to the bathroom. 

All in all we had a good and pleasant stay.

The hotel is about 15 km before Akureyri coming from the east. It is called a guest house but it is actually a hotel with reception, dining room and two units of rooms, called guesthouse and farmhouse. The signs at the entrance are confusing, leading you to believe that there are a hotel and a guesthouse on the premises but the guesthouse has no reception. Once you arrive the reception, you get instructions where to go. The room we had in the farmhouse section was small but clean and comfortable. the bathroom was shared with others, which is inconvenient, but pretty common in guesthouses in Iceland. At the end of the stay we discovered an additional unmarked bathroom. The farmhouse unit includes a large living room and fully equipped kitchen and ample parking space. Breakfast costs extra ISK 2000 per person and is good.

Only 12 km east of Akureyri on the ring road (highway 1), this is a great location for those who don't like to stay in a city.  There is a restaurant on site which serves dinner, and breakfast can be arranged also (extra charge.)  There are rooms with ensuite, and also rooms with shared bath.  There is a common kitchen in one building where guests can make breakfast from their own supplies; coffee is provided.  There are two hot tubs available for guests, and a lounge with a TV.
Owners are helpful and accommodating. Our room was nicely decorated, with a partial view across the fjord.  Beds seemed a bit worn (mattress is ready for replacement, I'd say.)  A little expensive with no included breakfast, but the view makes up for that.
Buildings are set back from the road.  There is no traffic noise (and very little traffic at night, anyway.)

This was our cheapest room in iceland on our week-long trip and exceeded all expectations. We were upgraded to a room with ensuite bathroom, staff were very nice and helpful. Clean and spacious common areas, kitchen, dining and tv room. They even had a hot tub! View from our room was breathtaking! We had breakfast on the balcony next to our room looking over the beautiful mountains and seas. Happiness!
