Ioannidis Guesthouse

A very well renovated traditional stone built house with good sized rooms that a simply furnished (but with everything you need). Traditional breakfast with local products with the option to sit outside in the terrace and have a beautiful view. Great value for money in the area.

The place and the guesthouse is magnificent.
Eleni and Vasilis are very helpful and very polite .
The room is traditional with a fireplace and very cosy .
You will have time to relax and enjoy the peace of the nature .
We will come back as soon as possible!!!

Authenticity and amazing breakfast !!! Wonderful spot. Value for money. Although we reached the guesthouse very late there was a very hot welcome from the landlord. He gave any necessary information regarding the facilities.

Whatever brought us up here in this picturesque village many years before, is rapidly changing into a small mountainous tourism industry.
luckily though, vassilis and eleni, they’re still here, unchanged, warm and friendly in their unearthly beautiful guest house with this breathtaking view, at the quiet end of the village. they don’t have jacuzzi, pool, crowded restaurant under your beds. if you wish to overnight as 60 years before, at 1000m height, as a guest of friends, in perfectly clean, warm and carefully decorated traditional house, do not hesitate! we go there for 35 years, time after time.


A beautiful Guesthouse every corner including the room is  well kept and clean the place have a stunning view of the mountains.

Vasilis is wonderful hosts which helped us in any matter at any time.
The breakfast was nine and simple and absolutely delicious.
I would recommend Ioannidis Guesthouse to everyone planning to go to Pappigo.

The estate of the family we were staying in was beautiful.  Cozy apartment with views of the magical mountains and village.
Breakfast with the family home made cheese and the traditional walnut cake dipped in perfect dessert syrup perfect for a perfect place
But above all, the hosts gave us the feeling that we were really family.  We're sure we'll be back there again.  Highly recommended

Great accommodation experience in Megalo Papigko. Guesthouse is an traditional stone built house from 18th century, which it’s character has been respected during its renovation. Vassilis Ioannidis and his sister, Eleni, ensure excellent hospitality and whole set up makes you feel like leaving in an original house of Papigko and not in an ordinary hotel. Upstairs rooms offer nice view, same as outdoor seating when weather conditions allow

This is a beautiful Guesthouse located in Papigo, Zagori with a stunning view of the mountains above. The rooms are fantastic and very cozy. We stayed 4 nights with my group and had an amazing time discovering the area. Eleni and Vasilis are wonderful hosts and went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. Their homemade breakfast which consisted from eggs from their private farm to homemade jellies and cakes or pies were absolutely delicious. I would recommend Ioannidis Guesthouse to everyone that wants to visit this authentic part of Greece.

We chose Ioannidis guest house after friends recommended the place. We were not disappointed : the house, the room, the view upon the village and the mountains, everything was wonderful but the most are the people : Vassilis and Eleni with whom you can talk, share, learn, laugh and just enjoy time passing in this wonderful surrounding as if you'd have the whole time in the world. Actually time stops there sometime... The rooms are perfectly clean, so nicely decorated in the old but very confortable house, the whole place is very quiet, the breakfast is so rich and delicious that you eat much more then you actually want/can! We received from Vassilis great recommendations about where to hike, where to eat lunch and dinner and which villages to visit among the "so many" villages of Zagouri. We only had two nights there and we regretted very much leaving the place so quickly. We left Vassilis and Eleni with a spontanous big hug and a strong will to come back. We can only keep on recommending the place to other tourists in the area. And BTW, the zigzag road leading to  Papingo is really worth it and paying back !
