I spent a couple of days in Celestia and I enjoyed every moment of my stay.
The hosting family was incredibly nice, welcoming and kind! they were happy to talk to us and to share their culture and language.

Dreamy and Cozy House in Greece

It would be a mistake not to mention how miss Maritina has helped us with our stay. Warm and loving welcome gave the best impression for the beginning. The appartments are exactly what we were looking for, an absolute smell of traditional greek experience. A humble place filled with love.

Nice place Nice people

Well i did stay last July. Not easy to find it as it was entirely new but i was rather lucky since it was part of Filoxenes Katoikies a small chain of traditional properties that show great professionalism and suggested me Celestia Houses.

I need to say that the location was fantastic. Not only the view but also the fact that it was in the center of the island in a very quiet and traditional small village.

As for the service provided everything were perfect nor to speak about cleanliness. Of course the house was entirely new. I stayed in Lanos House (THIS WAS THE AREA THAT THEY WERE PROCESSING GRAPES IN THE EARLIER YEARS) and this is the one i recommend.

KYTHERA WERE A FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE, AN AYTHENTIC ISLAND WITH VERY NICE PEOPLE. CELESTIA HOUSES WERE A BIG PART OF OUR VACATION AND WE ARE GRATEFUL TO THE OWNERS AND FILOXENES KATOIKIES OF COURSE THAT ARE RESPONSIBLE.

Traditional houses with quality service and friendly atmosphere

The Houses are located in a quiet village (Keramoto) in the center of Kythira island. They have been very well restored and traditionally decorated and the first impression is very positive. And that's about all the positives I can say about the place. 

Both our sheets and towels had big wholes and even though we reported it, only the towels were replaced after 2 days. During our 8 night stay we only had our sheets changed once. The hotel management claimed that there is only one laundry service in the island and that the delay was due to that which I find a very poor excuse.

What's more, there was no hot water unless you opened the water heater in advance and when many rooms opened the water heater at the same time the electricity went down! This happened 3 times and we were without electricity for 30 minutes each time.

It's a shame it is so poorly run!

Nice accommodation but very poorly run!

First of all throughout this review keep in mind it costs €130 per night!

1. There were holes in the ceiling and walls with naked cables hanging from removed fixtures.

2. The sheets were changed once in our 6 night stay and the new sheets were torn and damaged. The towels were changed twice although the old ones were left in the room and not taken for laundry.

3. When taking a shower the water had no pressure at all and felt like we were pissed on. We asked about it and apparently the solution was to call them or find them somewhere on the island so they could turn on the pump.

4. The fridge was totally empty. Not even a single bottle of water was provided even though the water is not drinkable.

5. The room never felt cleaned. There was a glass in the sink that was just left there!

6. There was no wardrobe in the room, just a single set o 3 drawers and a few cheap metal hangers hanging of the coat hanger.

7. There is no divide between the shower and the rest of the bathroom and water kept spreading to the rest of the room.

It was a horrible place and a disappointing experience on one if the best islands we have ever visited.
