Corfu Anastasia

To celebrate a significant birthday my partner booked this accommodation and what a perfect choice. I’d been to Corfu a few times, my partner well over twenty, mainly in the Gouvia region staying in quality places. But Corfu Anastasia was simply perfect in so many ways. If you prefer loud entertainment etc, then this certainly wouldn’t suit. It’s a quiet oasis tucked away between the villages of Gouvia and Kontokali. We arrived on a Friday evening to find the key in the door and on entering the rear apartment, we were delighted that it had a wonderful balcony view of the pool & marina. There was a nice kitchen with a large fridge, well fitted out bathroom, good double bedroom, TV & even a safe👏. Once I mastered the air con, it was time to chill. If you walk a few hundred metres south, there’s a little store were you can buy water, food & drink everyday. If you walk on to Kontokali you’ll find an excellent large supermarket with an in-house bakery and everything you could want (it closes 8pm & all day Sunday). Along that road there’s a number of excellent restaurants selling superb greek food, if you choose to walk to Gouvia, there’s plenty of great restaurants & bars to satisfy everyone. A must is Captain Spiro’s boat trips, well worth a try and take the No7 bus into Corfu to experience the old town. Back to the Anastasia Complex, the owner Spiro G lives on site and manages the property to perfection. It’s spotless, the gardens & pool are exceptional, the building is kept in tip top condition. There’s a cleaner in the place every day & Spiro G oversees the work. On out last day our transfer wasn’t until 5pm and we were allowed to stay in the apartment, that was a fantastic gesture particularly in the very hot weather. Would we return, that’s a no brainier, it is without doubt in a class of its own.👍🇬🇷
