It's always a pleasure to stay at the Seaside Studios complex. The rooms are spacious and clean. I stayed in a studio on the first floor overlooking the pool area, with views of the bay. It also has a balcony. 

The pool area and furniture has been updated since my last stay approximately two years ago. It is a very pleasant area for all ages and you can spend many relaxing hours by the pool with drinks and food also available. There is also a good breakfast available daily. 

The hospitality of the owner, Vasiliki, and her staff, is evident everywhere in the warm welcome and attention received while staying there. The result is a well-run establishment where you can fully relax and enjoy your stay. I understand some more updates to the accommodation are planned for next year that will see the three adjoining properties come together under the one name, so expect the great experience to continue in the same vein across the whole complex.

Always a delight

I rented a two-room apartment here. The furnishings are very basic, and there is no real decor to speak of. However, with the exception of a few kitchen items, most of what you might need is provided. The pool area is lovely, but unfortunately is open to the public, and between the hours of 5 and 7 pm it is often crowded with far too many children--sometimes so many that I just cancel my plans to swim there. Strangely, you cannot use the pool at the time you would most like to: between the hours of 3 pm and 5 pm. This I find extremely frustrating. The owner is lovely, very friendly and eager to do whatever she can to make your stay comfortable. There are occasional problems with blackouts ( not their fault) and poor Wifi reception, which can throw a wrench into the works if you need connectivity. The TV is ancient and quite tiny, perched high on the wall opposite the bed, so if you want to watch anything and read subtitles, forget about it. You have to stand directly underneath it to make any sense out of what is on the screen. Despite its flaws, I keep coming back here year after year. Compared to the other places in this village, you get good quality overall for the price, and the friendly atmosphere is a big plus.

Pleasant, clean, friendly

This is a gem. It is the first time we have stayed in the rooms though we knew the place due to being in adjacent studios in 2015. The consistent 9+ ratings for Seaside Studios ( in greek Akrothalasia, which confusingly is also the name of some apartments next door owned by the same family )  on the usual rating websites are spot on.

Don't be put off by their own website which will be updated later this year and will make it clear that Seaside Studios is the "brand" even though it means Akrothalassia. Lots goes on in Syros. Azolimnos offers you the sea, but is within 15 minutes by bus of the port/capital, and Seaside offers you a great location, a fabulous pool which most other studios don't have, and very attentive and caring owners who will do anything to help you enjoy your stay. All at reasonable prices.

My greek is non existent but I think the owner said that as of last week, they still had availability for the rest of june, july and august had a few slots, and september was so far quiet. We will try and go back for a week in september if diaries permit. We suggest you do too

seaside studios - a great little gem

This place is wonderful. The owner is extremely accommodating and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. It will be changing it's name soon to Seaside Studios. We stayed in the Aegean star and it is part of the same family. sharing the same reception and pool. Vassiliki is the owner and a friendlier more accomodating person you would be hard to find serving a great breakfast. The apartments are immaculately clean and cool with air conditioning.

Great place

Recently name changed to the English equivalent – “Seaside Studios.”

Spent just 4 nights here during a 2 week stay on the island of Syros during July/August.

Check in was very quick, reception being at the back of the small pool. Vassiliki – the lady in charge was very helpful and a lovely host. Nothing was too much trouble, ranging from asking for a spare towel to giving us information regarding the island. A very genuine lady. 

The layout of the apts see a block facing the pool area. Ours was a 1st floor studio with a nice balcony affording both pool and sea views. We had a TV and fridge and AC. There is some really basic SC equipment supplied, like a 2 ring electric hob and crockery. Nothing much else. That in my view was a little too basic. You couldn’t really create any meals other than snacks from what is provided. It did not detract from the overall stay and experience. Another small down side was no kettle. So take one. I always take my travel kettle so no problems.

If I recall, there was free wifi availabe. not too bad speed/connection.

A basic breakfast can be had in the snack bar/reception area daily for a few euros. The establishment also offers reasonably priced snacks during the day.

Location wise its literally 100mtrs to the beach. There are 2 bus stops nearby. One at the top of the road and one in the seafront road. We caught the bus in and out of the village with our cases without problems.

One funny rule – pool closed between 3 and 5pm daily – Not sure why. I think it may be because there is no staff cover during those hours and for safety reasons. The pool is of course suitable for adults and children. In addition there is a small splash pool.
Beds were soft and comfortable. AC was superb. TV was not the best but we weren’t there for the telly. I think there was 1 English channel. Bathroom was small basic and the shower was not the most powerful. Just remember this is not the Ritz. Its basic clean family run SC accommodation. We had a great time. All the staff were super. 

The décor and standard of the apartments was acceptable. We had towels changed and beds remade twice during our stay. The cleanliness of the entire complex was superb.

I would not hesitate to return and recommend! A beautifully located, well maintained quiet and small apartment complex. Perfectly situated.
