... to compete with other properties in this area. It is reasonably clean (e.g. the carpet on the main stairs should have been removed on day 1), but the quality of the bathroom in our room was below average. Broken shower door, wiggly shower rod and clogged up drain - unacceptable. Location is OK, but the noise from the main road in town could be a problem for some... Also, beware they don't accept credit/debit cards.

Place is a charmer, but needs a lot of work...

We booked through bookings.com and the price was 88€ for BB
Arrived after a 10 hrs drive from UK
The lady who greeted us was very pleasant and helpful and the room was OK 
The lights in the toilet and bathroom took about a minute to warm up an even then we're not very good
We had decided on this Hotel as it was near the Motorway exit but fare enough away in a small town not to be noticed
The car was safely parked but we were disappointed that the restaurant was closed and looked if it had been for some time which I thought they should have told us in the bookings info
The lady told us to try next door which we did and had an excellent meal I had fish and my wife had fresh mushrooms and omelet 
The breakfast was as OK other than I would have expected at least a boiled egg but the meat selection was OK
Overall OK but a little expensive 
The flat screen TV must have been replaced with a rather large
Old one which did not matter really as we could not find an English speaking Chanel anyway
Would I stay again, probably not

One night stay

We ate at the restaurant for dinner but didn't stay in the hotel. We have had two meals here with a group of 12 people. They arranged a special menu for a fair price and offered plenty of food. The atmosphere is very nice and the staff is friendly. Be sure not to miss the Nepolean cannon ball high up around the left side of the building.

Good typical regional food

Stayed their and found the rooms very clean and nice. The bed was first class and the bathroom very clean. The service from the owner was excellent and the staff very friendly. The Gasthaus which is part of this hotel/gasthaus has an excellent chef and the food was typical for the area. The wine recommendation of the waiter was very good and I have to say I liked the Badenser   wine. For Canadians of interest is that the owner she has lived in Regina for  a couple of years and has fond memories and like to share them with us.
