Quiet neat very well maintained relax hotel in schwarzwald. Clean and very friendly staff. Swimingpool open 24/7.

The hotel is located at the top of the village in a very quiet zone.
The double rooms with the view on the valley are very nice.
We did appreciate the kind service, the good breakfast, the inside pool, the saunas (there are two : one inside and another outside).
Two things that could be improved :
- pillows are stuffed with synthetic foam. One should find feather pillows in such a place
- i was not able to find fresh water. It was very hot during our stay and all faucets were delivering a warm water. Very unpleasant when you want to drink during the night...

Very nice stay at the Tannenhof

The staff were fantastic although you will definitely do better with German (but some room info is in English and some English is spoken).  The room was a lovely old-style room overlooking the vineyards and mountains.  They have themes, mine was lavender.  The bathroom was modern but very small.  The whole hotel is very rickety and moving around creates a lot of noise, so you have to go all in with the quiet enjoyment (e.g., they ban showers after 10pm).

The hotel has a small indoor pool and a sauna and a lounge where you can have free coffee and cakes and get drinks from the fridge on an honour system, including local wines.  The lounge has views but you can take drinks out to the nice terrace.  The terrace is good for breakfast, which is a fairly simple continental spread.

The hotel is a steep 1km+ walk from the centre of town (and what a darling town it is), which can be useful after the massive meals at the restaurants in town.  It is close to walking paths, in particular, take the road going past Gästehaus Rösch (which may have better views as it looks all the way to the Rhine valley - although that might just remind you that you’re not really far from civilisation) and you will quickly reach the top of the waterfalls, from where you can start the 10km circle path around Sasbachwalden, or walk down along the waterfalls and the 13 bridges to the town centre.  The Black Forest High Road is a short drive east - the Hornisgrinde is less than half an hour drive away.

It really is a good place for a Black Forest escape and not even very expensive.

Lovely hotel above the village

As per header, lovely hotel in a lovely location.
The first impression when getting in the hotel area is really to be in a relaxing and peaceful place. The hotel is located away from the small city centre, so if planning a dinner there consider moving walking a bit downhill and, later, uphill. But on the way you can find some schnaps self services to charge again your batteries :)
The rooms are perfectly clean, organized in details as a country house. Everything is proof of care to details. Good breakfast too.
I was there forr business, i will choose this hotel again as it is an excellent way to get out from daily stress.

Lovely hotel in a lovely place

The hotel was a little outdated... The confort room was okay, the bathroom needed some renovation (the door from my shower couldnt close). The hotel is isolated, therefore very peaceful. The sauna was small, but clean. There is swimmingpool, but not a restaurant. For warm meal you need to drive to the village. 

It was okay

The hotel is located right between the vineyards with nice views. The surrounding invites for relaxing walks through the nature. A very traditional styled black forest hotel with lots of amenities (pool, sauna) and honesty bar, afternoon cake and tea and a rich breakfast. The staff is very friendly and helpful. WLAN is for free. Even though  the Hotel is located out of town, is not very far to Sasbachwalden, where you find a variety of restaurants and shops. Very recommendable if you want to escape for the workaday life and relax.
