We stayed at Haus Schwazenburg in Ernst for 7 nights. We arrived by train to Cochem Train station, there was taxi stand but no taxi awaited, the bus would be a better option to this B&B in Ernst. The bus stop was just outside the station and bus#711 took us (with luggages) right in front of the B&B in 15 minutes.  The hosts, Marta and Michel were very friendly, generous, and helpful.  We preordered dinners with Marta for the night we arrived since we arrived late in the afternoon and were unfamiliar with the area.  Marta was a good cook, besides great dinner, there was a homemade Jam during breakfast. 
We were given guests tickets which we’d rather call ‘magic tickets‘ because we could use them on trains and buses from Koblenz to Traben-Trarbach for free for the whole stay.  As a guest ticket holder you can also get a discount train ticket to Trier.  

The B&B is conveniently located, bus#711 runs every hour from Ernst to Cochem, from where you can easily get connections to either bus or train to near by Mosel towns. The cruise port to Beilstein is also across the street from the B&B.  Behind the B&B, there is a trail along the vineyards, nice for a stroll or a hike.  There are also bike routes along both sides of the river connecting from town to town.

Familyhotel with a good breakfast (the marmalade is extra fine)  and a small but good menu for evenings (we eat twice). Very friendly owners. We reserved there 3 px room: a decent, big but not ‘grand luxe’ room. Bathroom is big and has a fine shower. The owners know the region very well and support you by maps.

We and our extended family spent a weekend at Haus Schwartzenberg while visiting the picturesque little village of Cochem and nearby Burgh Eltz castle.  The owners are a husband and wife team that are extremely friendly and go out of their way to make you welcome and comfortable.  The rooms are all clean, airy and comfortable.  One of our rooms overlooks the Mosel river with a magnificent view of the precipitous vineyards on the opposite side.  The complimentary breakfast was quite good with a nice assortment of breads, lunch meats, cheeses, fruits, yoghurts, cereals and pastries. It is located in the little village of Ernst just a few miles up river from Cochem.

Great little B & B near Cochem

We stayed two nights from 21st of July till 23 July.  The hotel is located near the street along the river Mozel, during the night it was quiet in the room. The breakfast is very good and provides a lot of variety. The owner is very helpful to inform about tips for hiking and other practical information. I would certainly return when visiting Cochem next time.


Excellent price quality hotel

We stayed here for only 1 night and wished we had reserved longer!
Marta was very welcoming, friendly, and helpful in making suggestions re: what to see and giving directions.
Our room was very spacious, clean, bright, comfortable and well equipped.
Breakfast was great with a large variety of choices and served in a bright & clean restaurant-like area on the ground floor of the B&B.
Although this B&B is situated on a main road the vehicle traffic noise here is minimal, particularly at night.
There are stairs here that you have to use every time you enter or exit the B&B, as well as to carry your luggage up/down, so if mobility is an issue check with the hosts whether staying here would be appropriate......otherwise, we would highly recommend this B&B!!
