34 reviewsWe stayed at the hotel for several times over the last couple of years and keep coming back because of the proximity to our family in Dortmund when we visit. Overall, one must say that this is a nice hotel and the restaurant produces some delicious food. However: the rooms are very basic and the furniture, if you can even call it that, is worn, dated and really could use an upgrade. In our room, the WiFi (they call it WLAN in Germany) was non-existent, which is a big nuisance if you need to stay in touch with your business overseas. To balance all this: the staff is extremely nice and helpful, the breakfast buffet not over the top but sufficient, the beds really comfy and the location a dream- if you have a room facing the forest and not Route 54.... If you can handle all this: try Dieckmann's, you'll like it. PS: as per Dec. 2017, there is no elevator to the upper floors, walk-up only.
