We stayed in this wonderful hotel in August to discover the area and mountains nearby. The top location of this hotel allows you to reach many destinations like castles, e. g. Neuschweinstein, the highest point of Germany Zugspitze, the clearest mountain lake Eibsee, iconic town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and discover Bavarian cuisine! This hotel Das Schlössl has an amazing restaurant and cuisine with traditional Bavarian dishes! 
This hotel is family managed, therefore all staff is very kind and welcoming!
Highly recommended throughout the year for any occasion! We will definitely come back!:)

The best hotel for your stay in Bavarian Alps!

Schlössl Hotel, Bad Tölz,   December 21  to Dec. 22, 2015

this was our third visit to this Hotel over the years.  Located a short walk from downtown. We visited during  the Christmas Market, which was delightful.

This Hotel is privately operated and as always we found it to be clean and the staff very friendly and accommodating.  There is no elevator, but not to worry the staff will carry your bags up to the room  with a SMILE..We were in  room No.12,  which is big, when entering the room there is a foyer,  the bedroom has twin beds pushed together with clean bed-linen,  there is a desk , a flat TV screen , a sitting room area, an alcove and a small balcony.  with table & chair.  There is plenty of closet space, also an in-room safe.  In the bathroom you have a shower, clean towels,  a hairdryer… the heat in the room worked very well. 
Breakfast the following morning was plentiful as well, there is a breakfast-buffet and eggs will be cooked a la carte, here you find an assortment of bred & sweet rolls, yogurt, juices, cold cuts , various cheeses, fresh fruit.  You will NOT leave hungry. 
 As always we enjoyed our stay and certainly would like to stay here again when we are in the area since we are always well taken care of.  Upon departure, the staff was kind enough to bring down our luggage from the room and even loaded it into the car, what more do you want.  A big “ Thank YOU “   to the Hotel Schlössl  team….

unser dritter Besuch !!!!!

Truly a 1 or 2 star, not 3. Here are the facts so you can judge for yourself:
* no soap, only a dispenser outside the shower
* if you are bigger than 5 foot and 100 pounds, you will not fit in the shower
* no shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, ear buds, nothing
* no washcloths
* cockroaches falling out of the shower door
* old towels and smelled like cigarette smoke, changed them every other day
* same exact breakfast, everyday
* old, smelly and has not been updated in many years
* doors are locked early some days, but you never know which day
* Wifi didn't work most of the time
I just didn't like it.

Just The Facts

Unfortunately there were a number of problems during our stay at Das Schlossl. 

The bed in our room was old, uncomfortable and noisy, meaning not much sleep on our first night. When I complained about this (in German) there was no apology and I was made to feel awkward and uncomfortable, as if I had done something wrong by complaining! However, the bed was at least repaired for the second night. 

Another example of the poor service was our arrival. No one greeted us and we had to wait for some time until anyone came. After going to the room and seeing that there was no shower gel or shampoo, I asked if I could have one, seeing that it was Sunday afternoon and nowhere was open. The lady shrugged her shoulders and said "we don't provide any" (!). Later the owner did finally give me one, the scent of which was so strong and really horrible!   
 
The room itself was spacious and had some old-fashioned charm, but everything felt a bit tired and in need of a freshen up, especially the bathroom (see photo). The breakfast was very basic: only two types of roll and no pastries; everything else was just packaged (jam, yoghurt etc) and not very appetising.

Bad Toelz is a nice little town but there must be better ways to explore it than Das Schossl.

Overpriced and way below average

The hotel had quite a B&B feel to it.  Different types of room offerings, some with balconies.  Nice bier garten area and the food in the restaurant was very good.  The family that runs the hotel is very friendly and makes you feel very welcomed.  Great location for visiting the lovely picturesque town of Bad Tölz and not far by train for getting to Munchen for Oktoberfest.  We made day trips to Salzburg and Innsbruck from here too.
