Hotel De La Darse

We stayed at the Hotel de la Darse in a side harbor view room for 4 nights. We had wanted a balcony-room facing the harbor, but alas, all were booked. However, it turned out to be a lovely room - we could open the window fully and from the bed, we had an excellent view of the harbor. The outside shutters could be closed to prevent additional light into the room - we did this each afternoon while we were out to prevent the sun from overheating the room. The room was fairly small, but it was adequate. Note: the hotel does not have an elevator, but we didn't find it too difficult to carry our bags up the fairly wide staircase. The full breakfast is €12 per person - we usually got just a cappuccino and croissant for €4 per person. It was the way we normally started our days in Italy, and was quite good, with very flaky, melt-in-your-mouth croissants. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and found the food and the service to be very good. The location of the hotel was perfect. You could take a quick walk around the port, or take the beautiful cobblestone path along the shore to get to the Main Street of the Old Town. It's about a 10-minute walk, depending on your speed. Highly recommend the Hotel de la Darse!
