We only drink here some coffee and tee with plum cake !!
Friendly staff helped us  and the tart was really amazing !!
There is a small terras at the front in the middle of the centre .
Its close to castle ( 5 min from there )

We stayed 5 nights in the tiny village of St. Hippolyte during our recent trip to Alsace. The village has few amenities and no Coffee shop, however plenty of hotels or gites and each one has a restaurant.  Coming back at night after a day of touring we looked for a place to have dinner and as we adored the name we went to try our luck at Hupsa Pfannala.  We were warmly welcomed and immediately seated.  Questioning about the name we were told that it is the name of an Alsatian dish, so, of course we decided to order that :). Let me warn you the dishes are huge ! Hupsa Pfannala is a dish made of cream, potatoes, lots of melting cheese and bacon, perfect for a cold evening.  We loved every bite but none of us managed to finish it.  The wine was excellent (Riesling from domain Alline et Remy Simon) and the desserts mouth watering.  Service was excellent and the prices - really reasonable.  We loved it so much we came back 2 evenings later.  This time we ordered salads and steaks - they were also excellent.  So if you happen to be in this corner of the world do no hesitate to have a meal there, you will not be disappointed. 

Lovely, welcoming great restaurant

We booked here on the basis of its reviews and were not disappointed. This was our first stop on a gentle cycling holiday to the Alsace. The Hupsa was easily reached from Selestat on well marked cycling paths, the location was excellent with several attractive towns and villages easily reached along the Eurovelo 5 cycle path through the local vineyards. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Returning at the end of a day's cycling and very hot and thirsty the open air bar was an ideal place to rest and cool down. The menu was reasonably priced and offered all the local specialities you would expect. 
The only real criticism would have is that the room had no air-conditioning but a fan was available. Would we stay here again? Most probably. 

A pleasant place  to stay

Nice try with modern bathroom in the room but nothing more. No airconditioning in the room. Breakfast served after 9 am and cleanliness is not the best part of the property.
The property is centrally located (no parking) and the restaurant is interesting attracting visitors from the surroundings.

Good, but...

This small B&B was the best place in town to sleep and to eat! It had cute rooms with all facilities you need and the restaurant is best in town. Staff is very friendly and they speak bit of German and English. Breakfast was great with many options set ready on tables.

Best place to stay!

Clean rooms, well equipped, pleasant and romantic atmosphere
Excellent location - quiet area. The owners are lovely, happy to assist.
unfortunately, WIFI is not working properly, disconnects every few minutes.
