Disappointed,the bedroom and the bathroom were fine,we were supposed to have a view of the sea,sadly it was obscured by many buildings,we overlooked a rather neglected garden with nowhere to sit.
The worst point was that no breakfast was served,we had a coffee machine in the bedroom which did not work well,the pods to use with it were pretty tasteless.
I felt like being in a prison,the outside gate is always locked,the front door of the house is always locked,I ask for two sets of keys,so that my husband and myself could go out at different times,but,it was refused.
We were not told that the railway line was behind the house,as well as a busy street,it was pretty noisy.

Do not believe in beautiful photographs 

I think the other reviewers were misleading. There was no charm, nobody on site and no breakfast. My room over looked the car park and train tracks, which I heard all night long. Bed was comfortable and bathroom huge but communication from the hosts was brusque and admonishing.

Misled

We highly recommend La Fabrique à Poupées in Menton. My husband and I stayed in La Chambre de Rosy, which is a nice size for a couple and has a huge bathroom and a balcony/terrace big enough for sunbathing and eating. Our two teenage children were in a smaller room La Citronnee (you can have a king or two single beds). The old mansion itself is super charming, and we also felt safe and at home as the main entrance is always locked as well as the gate outside. Great location for exploring Menton and the area (a short walk to the train station), many restaurants and cafes on the doorstep. 
Although there is no concierge service, so the hotel is not permanently manned, the proprietors were always available on the phone and were very helpful. Merci beaucoup! 

A real gem!

Top notch stuff right here. The need to knows are: big, clean, elegant, air conditioned rooms with en-suites.
Very nice breakfast in the morning on a balcony with a view of the garden.
10 minute walk to mention old town and the beach.
Absolutely sound hosts, who gave great recommendations for food/drink. 
Really enjoyable stay, would highly recommend.

Phenomenal spot

So far this is the best hotel (or B&B) experience I've had in the South of France and maybe in my entire life. The hosts are super friendly, attentive, client-oriented and pleasant people. The room was spacious (a treat in France!), beautifully furnished, the bathroom was a separate piece of art with its colourful tiles, and had everything for a comfortable stay - nice bed, air-conditioning, blinds, a balcony to enjoy our afternoons. The view from the balcony is fantastic. The private parking was a great bonus, we did not have to worry about leaving the car on the street or on a public parking. Since it is only 4 (or 5?) rooms, it is relatively quiet there. The breakfasts deserve a  special huge compliment - with a personal touch, home-made jams, products of high quality, and beautiful tea/coffee sets that were different every day. The fact that the food was brought directly to your table and it was not a buffet, made it feel safe during the crazy covid19-times. The hosts gave valuable recommendations regarding the restaurants to eat at and places to see. My husband and I will definitely come back again, the entire experience was a treat!

Fantastic experience, will definitely stay again

We had a double bed room, and due to Covid Restrictions, the buffet was closed. But the host did everything to make our stay unforgettable. The breakfast was awesome and the host are such a nice couple! Thank you for your assistance.

A Gem…

Excellent hotel run by a lovely couple. Their pride in running the hotel is visible throughout. Great room with lovely balcony. The breakfast is just awesome with personal touches. A true family hotel, that we will visit often when in Menton again !!

Great family run hotel !

Very friendly hosts. Rooms are large and well equipped. Quiet area despite being in a very central location. Nice breakfast. A bit pricey, but otherwise really recommended. We found it in the Guide Rivages “maisons d’hôte de charmes”

A great B&B to be booked well in advance

Such a special place for a bed & breakfast. We stayed for 4 nights in beautiful stylish rooms, with big balconies facing south toward the city, and had a lovely time with excellent on the terrace in the morning. 
Also a very sweet and helpful couple, that even made sure we could borrow towels and a beach basket during our stay for when going to the beach, which is quite close by.
Super relaxed and a good location in Menton.

A wonderful experience in Menton

Everything was great: the location (quiet but close to the center), the room (comfortable and decorated with taste), the view from the balcony, the delicious breakfast, and more than everything the hosts who were so nice and helpful. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay in a lovely quiet place in Menton.
