We stayed here last night with my wife, two children and dog as stop over on way to Uzes. 

It was perfect in every way. Wonderful location right in the centre of everything. We could watch the light display on the neighbouring cathedral from our window and the Saturday market was right outside. 

Unfortunately we arrived late and kept the owner waiting after closing time. Even so we had a very warm welcome for all of us including the dog.  I have no idea what the previous reviewer is talking about, it seems grossly unfair.

The accommodation is quirky, stylish and spotlessly clean.  We managed the spiral staircase with ease,  in fact it adds to the charm. 

If you are elderly or have motabilty issues this place may not be for you. If you want a plain box of a room with a lift stay in an Ibis or similar.

The atmosphere around the town centre at night is delightful with plenty of choice of restaurants. We ate at Le Fleury just round the corner because we read that they do the best French Fries in town. It lived up to the hype. Dog friendly and delightful.

Overall a very nice place. Charming, nicely furnished, very clean, staff super helpful. Only caveat was the wooden staircase in front of 1st floor bedroom. It gets loud when people come in late or leave early. I’d recommend getting the upper floor apartment.

Overall pretty good!

After arrival in the centre of rhe village, the duplex apartment was ver nice and cozy. Cinsidering that doe to covid restrictions, restaurants were closed, we got prepared a very tasteful diner in our flat. The whole experience was excellent and with a very personal touch! Congratulations to the staff to make travelers feeling comfortable in these weird times!

My husband and I booked a night at La Maison de Maurice at the last minute.  We had planned two nights at another gite in Beaune that had turned into three nights, because our car was vandalized and we needed to find new tires.  The first gite had a previous booking, so we had to change properties.  I booked La Maison de Maurice based on the many positive reviews it had received and the fact that it was pet friendly.  In fact, I think our dog, Arran, got the warmest welcome of all at this property!

The hosts were very flexible and accommodating, and I was impressed by how beautiful and comfortable the suite was.  The bed had a good mattress, quality linens, and nice pillows.  The shower had a rainfall head and the toiletries were of fine quality.  The location of the gite is right in the middle of town, and guests can even buy wine.

I would definitely recommend La Maison de Maurice to anyone in need of pet friendly downtown accommodations in Beaune.  Bravo!  We hope to be back to do the city right!

Great last minute night at La Maison de Maurice

What can one say.  This place is so wonderfiul that I considered toning down the review so that we wouldn't have to make reservations a month in advance to stay here, but I couldn't.  The family that runs the place was wonderful.  There are only three or four rooms, but they are absolutely beautiful.  Because of an accident of arrival and availabilty we ended up in two of them.  The second could have accomodated 6 people but because it wasn't rented the second night they put us in that room at the same charge as the smaller one.  The also sell wine and they will fill you in on all the wines in Burgundy.  Both wife and I counsider this one of the best places we have ever stayed in our lives.  If we ever get back to the region, we will be here again.

Best plaoce in Beaune, France

It’s seriously not a case of when I return to Beaune I’d like to stay here but I’d actually alter my dates to stay here again. 

Christophe is a charming host and being in a residence of private apartments and a wine bar what can go wrong!!

Breakfasts were amazing and staying an extra night was, at this time of year, not a problem. 

Oui!  Je veux retournera. Il n’y a rien d’autre à dire!!

Just gorgeous for so many reasons

I cannot think of many places where I would rather be. An excellently equipped apartment above a wine bar/shop in the center of Beaune.

The bed was really comfortable; the staff did everything they could to make our stay comfortable; the apartment was spotlessly clean; and it was large. Excellent breakfast!

Escellent for two couples traveling together who wish to visit the vineyards in Burgundy.

Highly recommended. Very friendly place. The staff will tell you where to park for free a few hundred yards from the hotel, but it does not have its own parking place.

Super Apartment in the Heart of Beaune

We did not get to experience the lodging, but if I get back to Beaune I will definitely look into staying there -- it is an absolutely beautiful space. We stopped in for a wine tasting that was the best value for the money of any we had in town, by far. Kristel was a lovely and knowledgeable hostess, the wines she poured were fantastic and diverse, and the unexpected charcuterie spread was delicious. The choices in Beaune can be overwhelming -- make this an appointment stop, for sure.

Easily the highest-value tasting experience in Beaune

We stayed here for one night in August - family of 2 adults and 2 children. It’s so lovely. 

There are quite a few stairs to climb but if you are fit and able these aren’t a problem at all. 

The hosts are so lovely and can’t do enough for you. We had a lovely glass of wine on our apartment and also some delicious snacks brought up to us - perfect! 

The location could not be better and the interior is spotless. The apartment itself is stylishly designed too. 

Can’t recommend highly enough. 

Absolutely fantastic place to stay 

Not only was the room spacious, lovely, and comfortable (and the A/C effective! We were there in the crazy heat wave of 40+ degrees C -- or 100+ F -- and our room was the coolest place in the entire city), but everyone who works there is just lovely. They were so eager to please and help in any way they could....I cannot recommend a place enough! What a perfect home base for discovering Beaune and the surrounding areas. Walking distance to everything.
