We loved our 3 days staying here in a panoramic hut. The huts were spacious, warm and cosy with a floor to ceiling window with a panoramic view of the forest. 

In winter it’s just a magical place. We ate most of our meals here and found them tasty and hearty. All meals are buffet style. Breakfast in particular was great. 

The resort is a long way from town and the shuttle bus only runs once a day. 

Activities are expensive but a great variety of. Worth doing.

A wonderful winter experience

I stayed in a panoramic hut with my 11 year old daughter. It was really magical. Very quick transfer from the airport. The beds were comfy and the room was toasty warm after being out in the cold. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate all meals there and found the food delicious and plentiful. Lots to do on site from snow shoeing, nature trails, husky sledging and reindeer ride. Thank you for making out stay so memorable.

Perfect!

The wilderness resort was a perfect fit for us.  If you want the night life of Rovaniemi, you should stay in town; but, on the other hand, if you want to experience the beauty of a "snowed in" place in the forest, this is the place.  Most of the activities we wanted to enjoy were right there on the resort.  We enjoyed dog sledding, reindeer sledding, snow shoeing, and a kota dinner right there on the property.  We only had to leave the property twice to go snowmobiling and ice fishing.  We had a meal plan that provided breakfast and dinner.  The restaurant was excellent and had a great variety of food.  It was enjoyable to share meal time with folks from all around the world.  The staff was friendly and helpful in every way.

Love Wilderness--this is the place

Vaattunki Wilderness Resort was Stunning...better than we had hoped for & made our trip to Lapland, we're so so pleased we stayed here. 
We stayed in a panoramic hut which was great fun & very different. It was warm inside but not too warm. The floor to ceiling window overlooking the snow topped trees was breathtaking, we just sat & looked at it, it was so beautiful it didn't seem real.
The grounds were unbelievable, long walks a stunning bridge over a half frozen river, lots of different trails to walk through, it's part of the Arctic hiking trails so lots to explore. It was so so quiet which is exactly what we wanted. We couldn't hear anyone in the other huts even although they are fairly close together. 
We read reviews about the restaurant before going which weren't too good however we ate there one night, it's a buffet style service & it was delicious....one of the most tasty meals i'd had in a long time...I'm still thinking about it it was so good!
The hut was very clean apart from the bed, there were lots of hairs on the mattress which you could see through the bottom sheet so I removed them all & re-made the bed. A detail the cleaner could be made aware maybe as the rest of it was very clean.
The only thing that was a bit of a let down was the lack of interest from the reception staff. We checked in late so knew we would pick up keys & let ourselves in but when we went for breakfast (which is also very good by the way) the reception staff almost ignored us. It wasn't until we were checking out that we saw all the brochures for all the activities with Safartica some of which we would have booked if we had known...it would be good if this was left in each hut. A shame the reception weren't very welcoming. The Safartica staff were very keen & helpful when we wanted to use the ski's.
It would be nice to not blast dance music at 7am at breakfast....most people go to this kind of place far away from everything to have some peace & quiet. It seemed to be more for the kitchen staff than the guests but it ruined our breakfast a bit & we rushed eating to get away from the noise. 
Great that we can use the ski's & snow shoes for free as well as sleighs.
Overall, the hut was amazing, the grounds/walks were amazing, the food was amazing and I'd definitely go back there & have already recommended it to friends.

Stunning, peaceful, picturesque, highly recommend for a peaceful escape

This place is magical. 

Truly is absolutely beautifully breathtaking. Pictures and videos do not give it an ounce of justice.

Me and my girlfriend went 18th of January 2024 and we came late because the plane was delayed by hours and the canteen was closed but the kind reception lady made us tea which was delicious.

All the reception staff to the waitress was very very friendly, even though the English language wasn’t their native language, everyone spoke it perfectly.

The cabin we stayed in (number 8) was very very nice, cosy and warm.

The view from the window was just wow and the treks, lakes and bridges was amazing. We did a trek for 6hrs, everywhere was clear sign posted. We went to reception and got some fire starters and made a log fire that’s available in the resorts trek area (which was huge and stunning)

In all, I loved every second at this place. The people working at the resort was superb and it offers lots of photographic beautiful scenery. We are so glad we chose this resort over the hotel we were considering in the Rovaniemi centre.

Highly recommend and a huge thanks to everyone who made us feel welcomed and at home.

Amazing, brilliant fabulous place

We stayed in a riverside apartment. The amenities were excellent we had a dishwasher, oven stove top and our own sauna. The rooms were comfortable and warm (a little too warm at times!).

The Resort is in a beautiful part of the forest about 20 mons outside Rovaniemi town centre which makes it quiet. It is set along a river and there are walking tracks and husky rides and reindeers galore!

There are sledges for the kids to use around the resort and a great restaurant. The staff were happy and very helpful and it was just a magical place to stay.

AMAZING!

We spent three nights at this beautiful resort and we didn't want to leave! The location is so peaceful, it's just on the edge of the Arctic Circle Hiking Area with incredible views in every direction and hikes and ski trails on your doorstep. We stayed in a panorama hut and were really impressed by how clean, comfortable and well appointed it was. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was simple and delicious, we had two vegans and one vegetarian in our group and were very well catered for. One morning they arranged a early breakfast for us so that we could set off early to take a long hike. A highlight was the night time snowshoe hike which we booked through the resort, walking out onto the frozen river in our snowshoes and then into the dark forest was magical. The resort is a little way from Rovaniemi (about 30 minutes by car) and not all tour operators will pick you up from here, so sometimes we had to take taxis to nearby attractions, as we didn't have a car. However, we found that was worth it to stay somewhere that felt so quiet and connected with nature. If you are looking for a romantic getaway or an adventure in the forest with a group of friends, I highly recommend this place.

Fantastic stay, like a holiday into a snow globe

Living here is like living in a postcard. Apart from the beautiful natural surroundings, the staff is very helpful and the food is excellent. We loved every minute spent here and ended up opting for lunch and dinner ta the hotel most of the time.

This resort definitely exceeded our expectation. The panorama huts were really well designed and spotlessly clean. There were really quite and the view to the forest was amazing. 
There is a living room and restaurant where they serve all meals. The breakfast was quite good and the dinned was simple but really delicious, especially cod served in a creamy sauce. 
The surrounding area is amazing. You can enjoy walking over the bridge and along the river. There is an outside fireplace where you can set a fire and enjoy the freezing cold weather next to it. 
The sauna can be booked at reception and there are loads of activities you can arrange during your stay.
The whole resort is quite calm and cosy. And the staff definitely try their best to provide you with the best service.

Amazing resort

What a beautiful place to stay, we booked a Panorama Hut and it was perfect for
4 nights for 2 adults. 
Beautifully set in the forest and lovely views and walks around the accommodation. Great location. The staff were so friendly and helpful and we booked all our activities through the wild Nordic sales team.
We did dog sledding & Reindeer sleigh ride which were both on site and we also booked Snow mobiling at night for 3 hours tour and it was amazing, that was all down to our guide Alexis who was fantastic and so friendly and patient as we were beginners. 
I would recommend a stay at this resort and to book the activities through them too.
