A tale of 2 accomodation options. We stayed in the new rooms on a nearby island and they are sensational. The older style rooms near reception and the restaurant not on the island, are according to fellow travellers fairly ordinary. However our ‘island room’ was spacious and is a local white stucco cement walls and domed brick ceiling style and looks great. The toilet and shower are in seperate, half walled rooms at the end of the room. Behind the bed head is a curved half wall behind which clothes can be hung and luggage stored. Two ceiling fans and a air conditioner are also fitted. The room, also unlike nearly all Egyptian hotel rooms, had a small bar fridge. The walls were adorned with tasteful Egyptian ceramics and the windows had shutters to keep the room cool and darkened. The room is a 200 metre walk from reception but staff told me in rainy season the walk becomes a rowboat ride. Porters are available to assist with the luggage. Breakfast served outside on the mainland in an area overlooking the Nile. It is local foods including omelette, breads and cheeses. The local Nubian tourist market is only about 100 meters way. I can’t comment if the pricing between the 2 different types of rooms are different but if the ‘island’ room costs more it’s worth every penny.

Best accommodation we had in Egypt!

We cane with a group of 20peoplr and everyone loved it and felt at home - great owners and staff so friendly and nice - we will always come back - sending love to Karim and Dudu ⭐️🙏🏼 we loved the newly renovated part and happy to book again - food was great

Amazing

My family and I stopped by Artika while walking through the Nubian village. It was the most charming little hotel. My family and I absolutely loved the food there. If you are in Aswan I highly recommend this spot.

Best food in Egypt!

I spent the new year's vacation in Anakato. People are so friendly. Food is nice, yet needs some more varities. Weather is amazing. Nile view is breathtaking, you never get enough of it. Close to the airport and almost all sightseeing attractions. Rooms are clean yet no TV in the room which needs to be reconsidered. The place needs more lighting as the streets inside the hotel are neither paved nor enough lightened. Overall experience was great, and can easily be much better. Manager was so helpful and polite. 

End of Year Relaxation

Best scenery best food and beverage wonderful nubians best service. Excellent shopping. Comfortable very clean rooms.Loved it. Nile tour is amazing. Only drawback is lack of night entertainment and no televisions in rooms. So it is ideal for relaxation. Very peaceful

Beautiful nubian accomodation

The best food ever in the west bank of the nile at Aswan city, the way they make the food using Tajen is great, presentation, taste above all is amazing, highly recomended. The best way to get there is to sail by a motor boat, on the way you will be sailing through the First Cataract and the protected area of Saloga and Gazal, the richist part in the nile, you can also drive through the first aswan dam to get there, it has a stunning view on the nile and Aswan dam. Beef, chicken and fish, my favourite is the Nile fish, Nubian salads, rice and more. 

Lunch at Artika

We were welcomed to Anakato at about 5/5.30pm with drinks. We were sipping our drinks looking out across beautiful scenes of the Nile as the sun went down, when we noticed there was also a power cut. We discussed dinner with our host and we were told there was a choice of chicken or fish. We ordered 4 fish, 1 chicken and 1 vegetarian. We were soon told there was after all no fish and the vegetarian (me) would be able to eat everything that was not chicken. Slightly disappointed we accepted the "choice".
We were taken to our rooms, 2 of which were not quite ready, were told our bags would soon follow, and were left in our rooms in the pitch dark.There was no explanation, no candles and no bags. We waited in rooms with our mobile phone torches on for about half an hour before our bags arrived, after about a further half hour the lights came back on. We asked if power cuts were normal and were told yes, around once or twice a month. We suggested they should get ready for the next power cut with at least candles or torches but possibly a generator would be sensible.
We were a party of 6 adults sharing 4 rooms, we had booked 2 double rooms and 2 singles. The lady who showed us to our rooms thought (we found out once the lights came back on) a single room meant a single (double) bed and a double room meant 2 (single) beds. 
Dinner was actually good but there was no pudding on offer (fruit or anything else). Breakfast was fine, no fruit or fruit juice but otherwise the usual Egyptian breakfast fare: falafel (the falafel were very deep fried and overly crunchy), foul (beans), omelette, flat bread, Nescafe (they don't have any real coffee), Lipton tea etc.
Having said all the above the rooms were amazing, the location fantastic, the ambience was great and I'd definitely return (along with candles and real coffee).
Note: there is no wifi in the rooms, you need to walk over to the main area to get a connection.

Beautiful hotel - service needs a little fine tuning

Best stay ever, the staff were extremely nice helpful always there to be sure you have a pleasant stay.The food was amazing and the location was perfect. Very clean place.I’m in love with every single detail😍.Highly recommended. ❤️❤️

Well deserved holiday

Rooms are very good.  Great view.  We stayed in the challet room which were supposed to be the most expensive rooms they had. Yet they denied us breakfast in the rooms as agreed on during reservation. We were told the owner's wife refused it as we're are not old people.  Breakfast buffet was very poor compared to any other place with stayed. Lower staff are very friendly and helpful. But the mnagement/owners are the negative point  of this experience.
