I wanted to love this place, and in many ways I did. 

It was fun, funky and good value. There's a coffee shop on site - bliss - and free parking. 

The rooms are clean and newly furnished. We had a small balcony which was really nice. 

Breakfast was also nice, a buffet, although there was only filter coffee on offer even though it's a coffee shop. 

But there were simply too many flaws. 

The hotel says on Booking.com (where I booked) that staff speak English. I don't think the standard was good enough for that claim as it was difficult to communicate and understand, which was a problem. 

I'd emailed beforehand asking for information about where we might rent a bike (it's a big cycling area) and didn't get a reply. There was no facility or help to hire a bike when we got there. 

There was no bin in the room, only a small bathroom-style one by the toilet. 

The food in the restaurant was rather bland (a salad and some pork). 

And, most disappointingly, there was drama about payment. I'd prepaid through booking.com and had the emails and records to prove it. But the hotel kept saying (in very minimal English) that I hadn't. I tried to get it sorted but they weren't having in. In the end I had to call booking.com who then called the hotel (the guy from booking.com told me when he called and spoke English they simply hung up on him so he had to get Czech colleagues to call!) It then got sorted. But no apology or anything. Not good. 

If they sorted out these various communication issues this would be a great option. Until then it's not quite there. 

Lots to like, but some serious flaws too

We loved it, people are really friendly and the breakfast is excellent! We came a bit late, after 10 in the evening, but they still made us pizza for dinner, we were super happy! :) I highly recommend it.
