The hotel is centrical and within walking distance to bus stops and sites within Turrialba. Some rooms have access to the balcony which gives you a beautiful view in the night. The rooms are clean and have just what you need. Tv internet shower bathroom fan and towels. There is also a kitchen area for you to bring your food and cook whatever food you have.  There is a small reading area for you to unwind. The treatment by the reception ist was very nice and friendly. Highly recommend if you want something cheap simple and accessible.

Hotel Herza is a comfortable, well-run hotel - not an elegant resort - but it served our purposes well.  I do agree with the other reviewer, that it would be helpful to get to the hotel before dark or contact the proprietor if arriving in the evening.

Great, clean little hotel with guest kitchenette and computer with consistent internet connection

Hotel Herza is a homey and cheerful place, and the staff has helped me a great deal this week.  My 87 year old mother fell and had a displaced fracture of her femur while staying in Turrialba which has required a stay and surgery in the hospital 1/4 mile from the hospital. 

My son and I flew in from the US and stayed at the Hotel Herza, and  the staff has gone out of their way to help us during this difficult time.  Things I like about the hotel:

- The price for us was $30 a night for a room with beds.

-  It is clean, well-managed and attractive.  The ever-cheerful woman who works here does a great job keeping everthing spick and span, and she folds the towells and places them on each bed skillfully to represent swans, animals, flowers etc.

- There is a large kitchenette surrounded with windows which open to the porch.  A table stands in the ccenter and guests may use the refrigerator etc.  

- There is a computer that is available for free and has a really good internet connection.

- The hotel has a long wrap-around covered porch with chairs for enjoying the city life below and the fresh breeze blowing in from the mountains.

- Hotel Herza has warm showers, but I´d ask the staff to show you how they work, because I didn´t know and took a cold shower the first day.

- Allen, the manager or owner, is quiet, but is right there ready to help when needed.

- It is just 1/4 mile down the hill from the hospital.

WARNING - for North Americans like me the hotel may be difficult to find at night, so be sure to get there before dark or call Allen for help.

The only negative for this country girl is that is in the city and has city noises.  The view from the porch of the palm trees and mountains is nice, but it is a city view with phone lines etc.

A decent and clean room with a double bed and a single bed, with a big window. There is a tv set and a good internet connection. The bathroom is ok, they provide towels and soap. There is a kitchen where you can drink your tea and a balcony where you can see trucks and buses passing by. We pay 18.000 CRC that is 34$ per night.

This hotel is gross. The sheets had clearly not been changed from the previous 1/2/3 guests. They were covered in dirt, hairs, crumbs, even SKID marks. We slept on top of the bed and didn’t use the pillows. We arrived late and had no alternative or we would’ve just left. Bathroom looked like it had never been cleaned, felt dirtier after coming OUT of the freezing shower than going in. So so loud as well. Traffic roaring past continuously throughout the night, blaring through the window which didn’t shut. Couldn’t wait to leave in the morning. Don’t stay here unless you want a sleepless night in a disgusting dirty room
