3 reviewsMy boyfriend, his brother and myself stayed in Melody Inn for five nights in Lijiang in one single and one double room in July. The hotel is a little tricky to find (as are most hotels, bars, restaurants in Lijiang's ancient town!) so it may be a good idea to telephone or e-mail the hotel in advance for more detailed instructions. The hotel is based in the heart of the ancient town but up a quiet side street so you are in the middle of the buzz without losing any sleep at night! It's also a five minute walk to the centre square. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a gorgeous terrace/balcony area around the bedrooms. It made for a lovely spot to sit and have a drink at the end of your day. The bedrooms were also very clean and comfortable- with toiletries, towels, television, tea/coffee making facilities all included. The bathroom was equally clean however we did have a spot of trouble with the plumbing in the bathroom which meant water leaked out of the shower and onto the floor. Admittedly we did not bring this up with the hotel staff so they didn't get a chance to rectify the issue and it wasn't a huge issue during our stay. Staff were friendly and available at almost all times of day for assistance; and also provided us with a map and information on the town upon arrival. I'd highly recommend Melody Inn for those looking for an affordable hotel in the heart of Lijiang old town.
