I was told this was the best hotel in the city and were oftenly used to accommodate government officials. Good facilities and breakfast was nice. One interesting thing was that the light in the bathroom was controlled by a motion sensor. If you shower longer than 10 minutes, the sensor will think nobody in the bathroom and turn off the light. The first time you feel darkness in the bathroom wouldn't be that enjoyable, but, you'll get used to it if you stay there longer.  :P 

Nice view and breakfast 

This was a hotel meant to be a top class establishment...the location, design decor ..but seems to miss a step or two in the translation.

Overall it was a nice hotel.  The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable and the towels nice and fluffy. 

The bathroom had a weird set up with two shower heads placed next to each other.  One was over the bathtub and mounted slightly crooked...the other was over the shower room floor so I thought maybe this is the one to use.  NOT a good idea since the glass shower door had NO seal and I had water all over the bathroom floor by the time I realized this.

So next I tried the tilted shower head in the bathtub but on this one the angle couldn't be adjusted...so I had to inch my way over to the right to get in line with the spray.  It was a lot of effort to take a shower.

The breakfast buffet was also a bit quirky. Among other things, the "fruit juices" were served hot.   

This might be the best hotel in Jingdezhen but it's definitely a step or two below top establishments in other nearby cities like Nanchang or Jiujiang.

Chinese Five Star

Good as for chinese hotels pretend to be luxurios. Nice rooms with well-working A/C, complimentary drinking water, VERY good breakfast, which made me glad. Generally, everything was ok and nothing to complain for.

This is one of the best hotel in the area. It's far from town and not convenient. But it's quite and the scenery is really great. 

The hotel is very clean and the staffs are very helpful. The food at the Chinese Restaurant is not too bad and the price is reasonable. 

The only downside is that many of the facilities are unable now such as the billiard room and beauty salon. 

Anyhow, it is a great hotel to relax after a whole day tour. 


One of the BEST in Jingdezhen

I must begin my review with a caveat:  my wife and I are not seasoned China travelers, having never before visited.  We came to Jungdezhen because of its magnificent history of porcelain production dating back many, many centuries.  We were expecting a Western friendly hotel as we were booked into "the best hotel" in Jingdezhen.

Simply put this is not a Westerner friendly hotel.  On the simplest level, workable English was nearly non-existent among the staff (and we of course speak not a word of Chinese; thank goodness for Google Translator App) which is a problem in general but becomes an unpleasant problem when things are not quite right with accommodations.  And, our accommodations were a problem.  Starting with the room, it, like most of the hotel appeared to have sustained damage from water leakage over time.  While our room was by and large okay to be in, the outer edges of the carpeting and where the wall met the carpeting clearly sustained damage that had moldered.  The room itself was clean enough but not very clean, the bathroom was serviceable but not good.  But, and I mean but, the most unpleasant thing about this room was the bed.  It was essentially without a mattress; from what we could surmise we were to sleep on a bed frame only.  From what I have come to learn, this is the "Asian style" of bed furniture and it is not, I repeat not comfortable.  We managed to ameliorate the situation by insisting on additional quilts to create some kind of workable bed surface.  It was not good.

The hotel itself is a rambling, overbuilt concrete and glass building that is in significant disrepair.  Hallway carpets are stained with water damage and while we were there we observed workers mopping up water seeping in from the rainy day outside.  It is not pleasant.

The food service is significantly Chinese, again with staff not speaking English and the offerings very different from the Western palette.  No real complaints there as this is not a Western world but it was nonetheless difficult for us.  And its distance from town made it inconvenient to do anything else about food.

There is more that I could say but you get the gist. If you would like to go to Jingdezehn, a city itself that is rougher than the sophistication of Shanghai by a long stretch, think twice about staying here if you are not used to China.
