We stayed here for 4 nights. The location is terrific as it's in Old Town Road where there are some great restaurants and shops you can visit close by and you have a great view of the frozen lake in the Winter. The rooms were very clean and tidy and the beds were comfortable. There is also a lounge area where you can relax with some board games, cable television and coffee/tea. We were also given complimentary breakfast at the Dancing Moose Cafe. The food there was excellent! Finally, the owners were very accommodating and friendly. One evening, the circuit breaker went out and John had it fixed immediately.

Would highly recommend Bayside BnB as your place to stay in Yellowknife

Bit shabby, excellent breakfasts, you are a bit away from town,although that’s not a problem,Yellowknife isn’t the greatest.... I found 3 days more than enough, depends on what you want to do. 
Staff friendly, and the B & B kept clean ,rooms on the small side.

We just stayed one very quick night, having arrived at 1AM and then leaving at 9AM to fly to Blackford Lake Lodge.  This was only a 4 minute walk away at Tindi Airlines, so it was very handy for us.
John was very friendly and helpful when we checked in, and in the couple of conversations I'd had before we arrived.  
We were able to watch the wonderful Aurora from the upstairs deck and the location is great as it is overlooking the lake.  The cabin was just what we needed - warm, cozy and plenty of room.  It had a compost toilet and a washbasin and everything was very clean and well cared for.
Breakfast was great, served in the Dancing Moose Cafe in the main building.  We were surprised we ordered from the menu (omelettes), it was included in the B&B price.
The price was very affordable and I would definitely stay here again.

We returned here for a 2nd visit recently---now as NWT residents. As always, the bed and breakfast was welcoming and comforting. Different was the chance to meet other fellow northerners as opposed to worldwide tourists, but the same friendly atmosphere and amazing morning breakfasts were available.   But it does seem like current COVID restrictions have had their toll on well-meaning bed and breakfasts throughout the NWT. Time to lift the restrictions and at least let fellow Canadians visit again.

I stayed in the northern skies room and was very happy with my stay. The room was clean and had everything you needed. It's on the lower level and being that it's in an older building, there is sound transference but pop in some ear plugs and you're good to go. There is a back door which lets you out on to a rear porch which faces the lake, so if you're lucky, you can see the lights right from your room.

Definitely a special place to stay. Right on the water with a fire pit. We went up to Yellowknife for 3 night to experience the Summer Solstice (June 21) and were not disappointed. Location was super quiet and easy walking distance to many of the popular restaurants in Yellowknife. Included a gourmet breakfast at the Dancing Moose Café in the same building. Host was extremely nice and accommodating. Would highly recommend this place to travellers.

We spent 2 nights here. First night we were upstairs with a partial view of the bay. Rooms were clean but was a bit small with a common bathroom. Wasn’t a problem as there was only one other guest. There is a common room with tv, books, tv, fridge and coffee maker. This lead to a deck with a gorgeous view of the lake. The second night we chose to stay in the cabin. This was much more roomier and we were close to the water. The continental breakfast were in their restaurant downstairs where you could chose anything off their menu. 

We just stayed here for 3 nights and had a really relaxing, positive experience here. It's a great place to set off for exploring Yellowknife from and offers scrumptious breakfasts downstairs. The B and B was clean and well kept, it offered a relaxing lounge to enjoy the view across the bay from--I would totally stay here again. If you are here, try the arctic char eggs benny downstairs!

Only quirks I can think of are: 1) the deck overlooking the lake was kind of icy and snowy, hadn't been taken care or shovelled for some time and b) owners are friendly, but are a little harder to reach when you have a concern than at an average bed and breakfast--they seem to run several businesses, so might be a bit preoccupied.  We did laundry service with them, but didn't get ours back until 9pm on our last night (but this was only $10/still a great deal).

Bayside B&B is in a wonderful location in Old Town Yellowknife, right on the shore of the Great Slave Lake. I loved waking up to the beautiful sunrises across the lake and watching the planes take off and land on the frozen lake. I imagine it would be equally beautiful in summer! We also enjoyed walking around the Old Town (even in mid-winter!) where there’s some interesting sites and a few good bars.

The B&B itself is a little tired, but does the trick for a few nights. Our bedroom was off the side of the cafe area, through a dark hallway with lots of stuff in it. Our room was comfortable and rustic, with a bedroom and bathroom with a shower, and a door that opened out onto the lakefront (beautiful outlook!). There were a couple of minor issues with our room: (1) there’s a great big red light ‘exit’ sign above the door, which was very bright and let a lot of light in - might be a safety requirement, but meant I had to sleep with a t-shirt over my eyes, and (2) our shower was blocked up and didn’t work - the host was helpful in resolving this, but took a day which isn’t ideal in -30 degrees! 

The breakfast at Dancing Moose Cafe is really good. You can pretty much choose anything on the menu with coffee, a very relaxing way to start the day!
