We all enjoyed it - a wonderful place with good service, 
loving hosts and crystal clear air. 
The rooms are clean and pleasantly furnished with everything you need in your exact location. We will recommend to friends.

Good place

The staff is very kind and friendly. There is free parking. The price includes use of the spa - steam bath, sauna and relaxation room. The rooms are spacious and clean with large terraces. The food in the restaurant is very delicious. I recommend lamb roast, grilled pork breast with barbecue sauce and pork knuckle.

Nice hotel, delicious food.

Chiflik Hills is a small family hotel situated in the heart of the Chiflik village. My wife has chosen it with the intention to be in a quiet and peaceful place, far from the noise of overcrowded hotels (For those who don't know some kilometers away is the Chiflik Resort, famous with its thermal mineral pools.) And in fact it was rather relaxing being hugged in the slopes of the mighty Balkan. 

Apartment / Hotel:
Our reservation was for the big apartment on the last floor of the building. It was spacious enough, the beds were comfortable for my taste. I cannot help myself to mention we were attracted by the high rating in different sites. Maybe that's why I was a little bit disappointed.

The ceiling is sloped as it follows the roof lines and in the middle of the room there are big supporting wooden beams. All these give a charming cosiness to the premises unless you are taller than 1.80m ...... Then this cosiness turn into a permanent hits in the ceiling when you try to stand up. For example it is difficult for a tall man to use the WC in upright position. When you get close enough to the white porcelain, the slope of the roof just comes into your head and you have to bend down, or step back and produce quite an impressive squirt to "hit the target"....... Some other matters which need improvement:
- there is no mosquito net on any of the windows, nor at the balcony door
- the hot water in the bathroom is produced by tanlkless (instantaneous) water heater. The temperature is not constant and permanent tuning is necessary. This is very uncomfortable.
- there were spider nets between the supporting wooden beams.No one cleaned them until the end of our stay.
- the restaurant does not work for lunch. You have to get in you car and go to some of the nearby options. The road in the gorge is narrow and there is no place for pedestrians. If you are the driver you should forget about wonderful rakia with tasty salad ......

Pool:
The pool is not big but even though its size is satisfactory compared to the size of the hotel. It has two sections - one bigger and deeper where the temperature of the water is very pleasant and a small section (for children maybe ....).
- the water is not thermal mineral but is additionally heated only in the bigger section
- the water in the small section is significantly colder which does not make it suitable for kids. 
- there is a rather imperative warning sign on the cover of the pool "DON'T TOUCH and DON'T SIT! 250 EURO PENALTY FOR DAMAGE" (see the picture). It gives the feeling you are not at a vacation, but in overstocked china shop, where every wrong movement you make can cost you a lot of money ......

Conclusion:
Chiflik Hills is not a bad hotel but is a little bit overpriced. With some changes here and there it could be a good and peaceful place for a family vacation in the mountains.

Chiflik Hills - relaxing but with some remarks

We were with friends for one night. The food with rakia were excellent. The rooms are clean and cozy. The service is very good.  There is a external pool, but in the winter it is closed. May be the summer is the best time to visit.

Good place with nice service

This is true meaning of family hotel. It has about max 5-6 rooms, pool and really nice restaurant. The rooms are so well designed and furnished, they will easily compare to 4 star hotels. The beds are not very soft, but this is pretty much what you will get everywhere in Bulgaria. The bathroom is modern, clean, really really well designed and efficient. Each room has a private balcony, each balcony door is equipped with moskito net, that allows you to open the window at night. The plece is so close to the mountain that really there is no need for AC. Opening the window at night will give you the additional advantage to hear the song of the crickets. Some rooms also have small fridge. 
The location is perfect to access the mountains or the not far town of Troyan and Troyan monastery. At the same time you are in the middle of this little village with perfect lack if light to see the stars at night. 
The pool was perfect depth to get warm from the sun during the hot summer day. 
The food in the restaurant really represent well the Bulgarian traditional cuisine, and all is fresh and tasty. They are open for lunch and dinner, and they also offer lunch menu with different choices every day.
The morning breakfast included in the room price is the typical Bulgarian breakfast with some fresh pastry, cucumbers, tomatoes, always fresh fruit, eggs, some cold meets and cheese. The owner Verginia and her son work hard to keep this place spotless and they succeed. They take pride in their work and rally care for their guests. I asked them to help organize a morning cake like desert with a candle for my husband birthday and they did it with no hesitation. 
The wifi at times is a bit weak, depends how many guest were using it, usually early morning was my best time to use it.
